The ending wasn't that good as I hoped. I don't know why people find this the best series final ever, I still want to know who was at the door.

How can Lucy die and Nyu be alive?

Damn OVA had to tell us uninteresting crap about episode 10.5.

Great anime! got realy touched by it. And really supriced too, when i watched first episode i really didnt think it would turn to such emotional anime. would give it 12 of 10 of it worked :P
I also finished the manga and have to say it was better than the anime, better ending, and alot better story.
I would really like them to redo the anime 1 more season but go after the manga. And now if they would be short of money, just continue where the manga and anime splits.

So is there any1 who know a site where u can vote/beg for more Elfen lied? i though i saw it a few days ago, 2 links where u could propose ideas etc?

No. The Ova is the last episode.

There is a manga for this though and I heard it had a different ending.

I'm not a fan of the anime ending to Elfen Lied. There were too many loose ends that were practically all tied up in the manga. I enjoyed the series as a whole, but I just can't rate it above average due to inconsistencies and plot holes, the concept is fantastic though and some of the artwork was brilliant (Mainly background pieces, the stairway for example, and the shrines surrounded by statues).

Really top notch anime, in my opinion. Despite all the blood and flying limbs, it was contrasted by some comedic and romantic elements. It kinda reminds me of a Shakespeare play, for some reason.

As for the ending, I'm not quite sure how to take it. I guess I can understand the clock working again, and Wanta wanting to see whoever is at the door, but I can't quite understand the music box stopping.

This just occurred to me (just random speculation); but when the clock starts to work again, and the music stops, it signifies the rebirth of Nyuu and the death of Lucy. Since the music box is related to Lucy when Kouta and Lucy met, it stopping could mean that Lucy is gone, but the fact the clock started working could mean that Nyuu is still there, or was reborn. or whatever. Just a thought. :)

In the manga, it is said when the horns are destroyed, the Diclonius goes into a coma. So thats pretty much whats happened, Nyuu returned and Lucy is sleeping.

Ahhh, okay, that makes sense.
I should pick up the manga sometime!

Elfen Lied was amazing. I wish there was another season. The end was quite mysterious.

Yeah it is really good, it continues the anime story quite far. The Mariko part is quite different, and Lucy is stronger and a lot smarter than Mariko in the manga (Which makes sense really). The anime ending is about 2/3 of the manga, though I can't remember really (Haven't read it for a while).

Well, that was an interesting series. By no means a masterpiece... but it was sort of entertaining. The love triangles were really over the top and cliche. A lot of things in this anime were downright silly, and I don't see the hype over it, but overall, I'm glad I watched it. Just to see what it was all cracked up about.

Me three. Show was straight up average, and if you think it's amazing, I think you need to watch some more anime.

Face it, the reason most people watched it was because of the violence and nudity, and past that the show was completely shallow, and took a crack at as many anime stereotypes as possible in order to bring in viewers.

A mutant human whose power to destroy humanity is a few invisible hands with magic cutting powers? Lame. That was just their poor explanation for being able to slice humans up with some invisible power.

Horns that look like cat ears? That's almost insulting to me. Do they really want people to take the series seriously when they replace something as brooding as horns and replace them with cat ears just to try and appease to people looking for cute fanservice? Gtfo of here with that.

And the weak harem elements? Terrible. Why was a main love interest his cousin? I don't think that's any more acceptable in Japan. Were they just trying to go for the incest hentai crowd? Again, it feels like an insult to my intelligence that they think they can bring in viewers by putting in such shallow fanservice.

Story was lame and never really escalated to a dramatic conclusion. The premise at its bare minimum could've been interesting (mutant humans born with evolved features meant to destroy and eventually replace humans), but they took that premise and threw every possible anime stereotype at it then tried to make it into a good series, which completely set them up for failure.


It was decently entertaining, I'll give them that. Not nearly as bad as certain other overhyped series', like say, Noir, but it was still lame and undeserving of all its praise. Anyone who thinks it's amazing really hasn't seen a better share of anime.

Either that or their maturity level still makes them think anything with boobs and gore is awesome.

Unfortunately it's not a matter of how much material one has experienced - it's straight-up demographic preference. Some people like drama with myriads of ecchi and harem undertones; some don't. While I personally hate people who herald this as a masterpiece or a work of some divine figure, I enjoy the series (both the anime and the manga) for entertaining me.

The accusation that people watch this purely for gore and tits is ridiculous. You'd be surprised how many people actually enjoy its drama and not the blatant ecchi scenes (it does however draw the obnoxious gorehounds in on occasion). Afterall: there are far better series to find your fix for gyrating bosoms and house-sized breasts.

One could easily argue that your tastes aren't up to par with others, but I think we're all a little more mature than that. Trust me -- you don't want to go there... especially when you consider the irony of having Love Hina on your list with a 9/10.

Tears are comming from my eyes like neverending story...EL is the best anime ever and last kiss><Tsukoi!!Ova suck little but still Nyuu is there!!:)
