Yup, that's me. I loved Marth, so I went out to buy the first FE game I found. Then I got addicted to Fire Emblem....

haha. well at least more people discovered Fire Emblem that way. The first FE I played was number 8, Sacred Stones. The game looked interesting so I wanted to try it. After I got hooked I traced down 7. Funny thing is, I never played 9 because I never had a Gamecube, but maybe no,w since I have a Wii, I may be able to pick it up used and give it a spin. :D

Yeah, that's true. And I'm kind of grateful. But it's hard to find fellow Fire Emblem fans that adored the franchise even before Brawl made it such a huge thing, you know?

Yeh. I picked up 7 because of DE... I'm sure most people picked it up because of games like Melee or Brawl, though. As for me, I had always watched DE play her FE games like 7 and 8 on her GBA, and PoR, and a little of RD. I started being like 'I WANT TO PLAY', and started playing 7 on DE's GBA(since she spends most of her time on the internet lately).

Even if you started because of Brawl or Melee, thoguh, you still got into it :3 FE fans are FE fans, after all :3 I look forward to seeing how many did start because of brawl or melee now :3

I actually got into FE before I played either Melee or Brawl. I got Path of Radiance as a birthday Present and ever since then i was hooked. Got the two GBAs via emus and Radiant Dawn was the first game i ever got for my Wii.

I'll admit it was Marth in Melee that got me interested in the series (he was my main, after all), but unlike other people, I realized it was like Final Fantasy and knew Marth himself wouldn't be in the newer games. Still, I bought Fire Emblem 7, and it has since become my favourite game of all time.

It's all Melee's fault, lol. But even though I love Marth and Roy so much, I never did bother to try out FE7 or FE8 when they came out.
I got Path of Radiance for my birthday, and loved it and the characters, and provoked me to go get the GBA FEs and play all the other ones before FE7.



True that. Fire Emblem had a nice fanbase before, but got so much bigger because of Ike-the-Powerhouse in Brawl. Not that I'm complaining about it though,
because at least all my friends are getting into FE by constantly asking to borrow my PoR. XD

First game I played was the first american realese of fire emblem for the gba (fire emblem 7)! and it was love at first play. after playing that game i got impatient and played roy's game with a translation hack and i played sacred stone in japanese before it came out in english. The series is one of my ultimate favorites along with the tales series

So ya it had nothing to do with Melee or Brawl, played the game before that... actually it'd say its the opposite, I play with Roy, Marth and Ike because I'm a fire emblem fan.

I started Fire Emblem after playing SSBM.. more like, I've never heard of Fire Emblem before!

But that's nothing to be surprised about.. Because the Fire Emblem for GBA was the first one released in Europe!

I've never heard of Ness & Mr.Saturn before, too.. That's just sad :/

I found out about Fire Emblem when I was playing Super Smash Bros. Melee when I was a little kid, and I remember thinking "Aw man, why can't this game come out in the US?" I remember being so exited when I found out that a Fire Emblem game was finally going to come out in the States, but I didn't really get into the series until much later, until about a year or two ago, actually. But boy, am I glad I did.

Anyway, no, I didn't learn about Fire Emblem through Brawl... I learned about it through Melee. XD

I actually picked up Fire Emblem 7 by total randomness. I traded a friend my pokemon ruby for his FE7 and metroid fusion at school. And then i was hooked.

I was actually excited for Ike's appearance in Brawl because I was a fan of Fire Emblem beforehand.

Too bad I suck with Ike. Marth is my third-best, though!

The reason I got addicted to Fire Emblem was because of Radiant Dawn.The front cover of the game caught my attention.I wanted to buy it as soon as I saw it even though i didn't know anything about Fire Emblem.
I am trying to get Brawl,but strangely I can't find it. :(

I played Roy a LOT. As in, I maxed out the play-time counter just using Roy. That being said, I hate Ike (it's because of him Roy got dropped).

I mean, it makes no sense to drop Roy, when Lyn is an assist trophy .

Did you play FE6? At the end of FE7/Before FE6, Lyn gave up controll to Ostia. Then she left for the plaings.

Well, in FE7 the ending changes based on supports. Here is what happens if you get an A rank support between Eliwood and Lyn:

But either way, Lyn being an AT in brawl doesn't make sense to me. Mewtwo and Pichu both received trophies despite being dropped. Roy did not. Makes me think that Roy really was intended to be in the game as a third fire-emblem character. Kind of like how Fox, Falco and Wolf are in the game. It would have been Marth, Roy and Ike respectively.

Even though you can match up whomever you want, I think the story implies that it's Eliwood and Ninian that sire Roy. Besides, I always liked Lyn and Rath personally.
