| Overall, I liked this episode. Plenty of humour and a little more backstory on Asuka (i.e. COLLEGE??). While I knew it was never going to happen, I really did want them to extract the angel egg without any problems because I want some history here! Oh well :) Poor PenPen at the End |

| Hahaha Shinji. Nice episode for Asuka, I like her c: I like that the kids are actually acting like kids for the most part. It's always pretty weird when middle/high school aged kids in anime adopt adult outlooks/attitudes. Just Asuka worrying about what she looks like is funny but its very fitting regardless. They're kids :D |

| Lighter happy time but still fun. Ep 10. Pro: Plot- An angel in a volcano. Shinji getting fanservice. Asuka becomes the butt monkey. And Thermal Expansion. Lotta fun without the Angel. Character-As I said, Asuka inherits the role of butt monkey due to nothing going her way. Trips, attention, and then the fat suit. Welcome to Shinji's life. She gets whiney but does supply laughs and scores her 3rd angel kill. Right now shinji has the highest with 4. Asuka has 2. Rei has 1. Coulda used more of her facing off with Rei. Shinji doesn't completely escape butt monkey status due to the ending and homework. Hehe. Thermal Expansion. Misato however reminds us of her need to eliminate Angels even if others get hurt. Bit callous on her end but well world destruction does that. 4/5. Funny but a bit...actually just funny. |

| Good episode. I'm glad that I have Asuka around to entertain me since Misato isn't as fun lately. Definitely curious about her past now though! I wonder what that is all about? ★4/5 |
| Shinji diving down into the magma and rescuing Asuka... He's progressed so much. The scar and the talk of the past between Misato and Asuka. It implies that they've lost love ones, although I think the same could be said of many people considering how the Second Impact occurred only 15 years ago. What's the deal with the penguin anyway? It keeps showing up but yet it hasn't shown any plot relevance. |

| (rewatching again) Ok, so this is the other and last not-so-great episode. The pool scene... Asuka is clearly flirting with Shinji and he doesn't know how to react so she calls him boring. She likes to be the center of attention and he isn't giving it to her. She already hates Rei. The other important thing is "going on the offensive" and how it relates to Second Impact. Not going to say anything more on the topic. 4/5 orzel286 said: For anyone thinking the same... I can't blame anyone for thinking that at this point in the series. The dive-in somewhat reminded me of Pacific Rim (actually I notice a fair amount of similarities. I wonder if Pacific Rim was heavily influenced by NGE) |

At this point I wouldn't even call her a main character. So far she really hasn't really done anything other than that time she helped Shinji beat that Angel that shot lasers. |

(and I'm sure at least one or two between ep.3 and ep.10 were "decent", the Ramiel/Rei episodes were there) @CaptainET Really that bad? (I guess it's a joke) @CaptainET Well, it's nothing. Especially compared to all the fan-service (sexual, mecha, etc) Misato promises in each trailer. ^^" (And the thermal dilatation joke was a nice way to stay in episode, and a good example of Asuka's problem) |

You don't know how many times i had to pause and rethink my life trough. @Rei366 I just didn't think that this anime would have these kinds of scenes. I thought there would be Misata shower scenes, but Shinji trying to kiss a sleeping girl, didn't think that shy Shinji would do that. I just hope that they don't sexualize Rei. #ReiIsBestGirl Didn't know that mecha fan-service existed... |

| This episode was just okay. I hoped Rei to come back in action. But it is Asuka again. *sighs* We see Misato's scar and some fan service. Also, Shinji experiences some thermal expansion(If you know what I mean LOL). But, this episode was only okay and not great. Let's see next episode. |

| @JeremiahOrange The creator (and director) admitted himself that he had forgotten all about Rei after he was done with her. Anno said: The truth is, I have no emotional attachment to Rei at all. In the midst of making Eva, I suddenly realized that I had forgotten her. Her very existence. For example, in episode seven, I remembered and added one shot with Rei. I had no attachment to her at all. I think that was okay, because in episode eight, she didn't appear. Not even in a single shot. Episode 6 was too early. At the end Rei says "I don't know what to do," and Shinji says, "I think you should smile," and Rei smiles. ... Afterwards, when I thought about it, I cursed. In short, if she and Shinji completely "communicated" there, then isn't she over with? At that moment, Rei, for me, was finished. When she smiled, she was already finished, this character. | It was a nice episode, like the couple of last ones, but nothing special, there hasn't been much exploring of character's emotions since ep 6, and that's the best part of the show, hope it will continue doing that at some point again. |

| Asuka's suit is funny. She is a well written tsundere, not overreacting for everything like most of the modern-day tsunderes. Rei vs Asuka. Ahhh, i like both. Misato and the Second Impact? Seems interesting. 4/5 |
