I'm very interested in learning more about Bernkastel. The anime didn't do her much justice at all. If you lived in your computer, you'd be home already. |

Frederica Bernkastel is such an interesting character! I loved the poems reference to the frog in the well too. basically the frog is trapped in this small confined reality of the well, but there is enough insects and water to sustain his life there. Its only after an outside force (a bird in this case) shows him the outside world that he sees how small his world was. Lady Bernkastel (the hundred years witch) who will eventually generate yet another entity (the Frederica Bernkastel of Umineko) experiences similar freedom when she parts ways from Rika Furude and Hinamizawa. |
