Ruby_Moon said: I hope WB will be smart enough to take whatever happened with DBE into consideration. and I hope VIZ/Shuueisha will have better control over the production than (blah blah, samething). but then again, I might be hoping for too much :/ Dragonball Evolution was the absolute WORST anime live adaptation I've ever seen. They better not f!@# up on Death Note. |

I can't say that I'm not expecting this. Death Note is too popular for Hollywood not to try making some money out of it :/ I suppose Neon Genesis will get a live-action movie next? |

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-05-01/warners-brothers-acquires-live-action-death-note-rights "Vertigo Entertainment (no relation to DC Comics' Vertigo imprint or the United Kingdom's Vertigo Films) revealed last year that it was developing a remake with screenwriters Vlas and Charles Parlapanides. The two brothers remain attached to the project. Vertigo's Roy Lee (The Lake House, Shutter) and Doug Davison (Dark Water, The Lake House), Lin Pictures' Dan Lin (This Side of the Truth, Sherlock Holmes), and Brian Witten (executive producer of Final Destination, 2009's Friday the 13th) are also attached as producers." dear lord. I never liked any of their movies. it sounds like they're going to make Death Note into *yet another* B-rated horror flick. |

Onegai said: guys guys, don't judge it before it comes out how serious are you when you typed this? ^^ I think part of why I'm being pessimistic about this is because I'd rather be nicely surprised than disappointed. |

If Zac Efron actually does get the part, I'd LOL. It's like a parody of sorts. XD |

NO doubt they will use the same technique Fox used to frack up DBE - give ridiculously low budget, restrict actor choices and use "big" ads :P Can't wait for DBE sequel, which hopefully WILL have normal budget(and maybe normal advertising finally?), now that fox had their fun treating everyone in the staff as slaves.
