| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It's a PINK Zaku and a PINK flight suit! xD Another slapping scene! Will there be one every episode? xD Moving on to more serious (or not) business, how the hell does a simple fragmentation grenade blow through space station hull plating? And how can Char avoid 10 or so people shooting at him? He's either god modding or everyone's accuracy sucks big time! |
| You know I think the Gundam is broken, Slander hit Amuro about 10-20 times and did nothing, Amuro gets one hit in and Slander is dead, he never stood a chance. I do like how the kids pretty much got control of the ship, it was actually kind of realistic. |

| So this is the very first actual gundam battle against mobile suits. Char's Red Comet is pretty agile and fast and can dodge. Amaro has the fighting ability to probably take down char, but he lacks the overall experience. Anyways a good episode. I am really starting to like Gundam. |

| This episode was great! Char really seems like an interesting character and generally the story and characters have me kinda hooked already. Really starting to like this :) |

| Char seems to be pretty badass. Dodging bullets and kicking guns out of girl's hand while being 10m apart! Looks like Amuro can't shoot humans, but Zakus are free game. That is actually pretty realistic. |

| Slapping people seems to be as normal here as it was on Zeta. I like that. Char dodges bullets like a boss too. |

| Amazing episode :) If there's only one thing that didn't make any sense is when Sayla saw Char and escaped. How the hell did Frau made it on deck when we didn't saw her board with the Gundam O__O And lol that kick!! It does look weird when he kicks at her gun maybe 15 meters away XD Char is such a boss, infiltrating the based expecting gun fire and still manages to out manuever them on foot. He's even smart and says not to move when the escape White 7 since Humans are a very small target in space. The battle was ace. Char must be pissed that for being a legend, he was force to retreat in battle. Now that i've seen the opening. I can definitely see how Gundam Seed has taken a few notes for this. Especially how Kira got his Gundam and piloted it the first time. Can't wait for the next episode!!!! |
| I don't think it's so much that Char's dodging the bullets (outside of his Zaku) as it is that the fighters have A-Team shooting skills. I have no explanation for that insane kick, though. xD I think the point that Gundam is a supremely superior technological advancement in mobile suits is being driven home well. The way Char reacted to it, it almost seems like a WMD. Just think of how many Zakus a Gundam could take down if the hit rate was high. The incorporation of teens into a war plot was handled naturally, which I like. |

| Their accuracy is hilarious xD. Char seems pretty cool so far. Green hair guy complaining at Amuro when he has only quickly glanced at the manual i think he is expecting to much from him xD. |

| The atmosphere during the narration was engaging, the character of Amuro does not behave badly is this is commendable and makes you long for the good old days, the reactions of the other characters are not bad, the same battles, the picture quality is stunning after restoration. Red comet kitaaa !!! |

| Just started watching this out of friend's recommendation. I like Char. It's nice to see the main character's struggle to grasp the basic piloting. I'm starting to be curious about the blonde girl. Might be my next favourite female character. Anyway, Char seems like a reasonable, calm antagonist. That's cool. |

| @LuckyHarm It's not surprising, knowing those characters had been pretty persistent in japanese characters polls during the 80s (and even beyond, though less high). (I lost the page with the rankings through years but there is that too: https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=158388/ ). They even received a movie to seal the most famous rivalry in japanese animation. Not even talking about all the Char's merchandising (bank cards, car, etc). And welcome to the UC timeline, I guess (based on your text in the previous thread). edit: though, it's strange to find another person who appreciates the hero. I often read things like whiny etc like several of his spiritual successors (Ikari Shinji). |

| I didn't get hooked much so far. I will give it a 3 to 5 eps more and if i still fill this way i'd give op on it. But i hope it proves my expectations in the future. |

| We got more intense action in this episode. Char is extremely experienced, and his Zaku is very impressive. Thankfully, Amuro managed to handle himself well enough to get through that encounter, and will hopefully improve with experience. |

It's only 40 some-odd episodes; I feel like you just gotta muscle through it and give an honest try to old school animation. We've been spoiled with all the pretty colours of the digital age I already gave up xD the story was progresing to slow for me. |
