Honestly, i started reading the manga, and i loved it. When my shounen jump subscription ended, i decided to pick up the anime. lets just say i couldnt get past the 15th episode because of how slow-paced it was... with all the unnecessary flashbacks and such. It really irritated me to the point where i didn't even pick the manga back up. I'd much rather read bleach, shaman king, or one piece. |

I get scans online so im very updated on the story and it is starting to get really interesting. I dropped the anime for the same reason. 300+ episode and they still have the same problems. bah. |

I like the way you think. 200+ is just stupid. of course.. Nothing wrong with /long/ anime like monster. Not a moment wasted. I noticed a few people say stuff like this. when you have to skip episodes in an anime, even a single one, you are not fully experiencing it! you have to be kidding me.. It just bothers me when people say "oh yeah I skipped 100 eps, pretty good show". Shit like that bothers me more than the devout narutard, because at least they watch what they love Modified by selective_yellow, 12-06-07, 12:27 AM |

Shit like that bothers me more than the devout narutard, because at least they watch what they love While I do agree with you skipping sucks especially when they say things like "I hate the show so much that I dropped it in the first episode bla bla" . How can you hate a show that you only get to watch for 1 episode? Its like watching 5 minutes of Transformers and say it sucks. However, in the case of Naruto, I have to disagree with you here. Maybe hardcore fans will watch it or just for the sake of completing it, but I stopped halfway around 160+, well even after I continue back on Shippuuden, Naruto just doesn't give me the feeling I got in the earlier episodes anymore. My point is, even with or without spoiler, the show drags and drags till some watcher lost interest in it completely. I have some friends who still like it, some who completely stop watching it , and some still watch it but not liking it as much anymore. I am in the 3rd category =) Its just like Bleach, at first , I thought, that was an awesome series, then I heard rumor it will end around 60-70 episodes, which is good IMHO... then the creator just continue and continue till now.. which again, follow the path of Naruto. I guess when theres demand (which is always will especially for kids or those who started to like Naruto) it will go on and on and on. |

The reason I don't like Naruto is that I just can't get into an anime series very well if there isn't at least one character that I like on the show. On Naruto I couldn't find myself liking any of the characters. (most I hated) So I stopped watching it. Im not bashing it or anything Im just saying its not for me. Oh and one other thing....its way too long for me to follow. |

like many others I would have to agree on the fact that naruto is just to drawn out, and many of the fighting sequences are the same thing over and over again with something sligtly diffrent thrown in to the point where it's simply to predictable. Aside from that it doesnt help that the popularity of it makes it so "in your face" that it's dificult to just ignore it regardless of your oppnion on the anime. Personally someone could point out any aspect of the anime that they liked and I could find ATLEAST one searies that does it better and more believable than naruto does. While naruto isnt bad it isnt all that geat ether, its missing that certian something that grabs your attention and makes you want to see the hero suceed. The same goes for most of the big popular animes out there. They tend to be alright but nothing special. ![]() "WoW is like a kiddie pool, it looks fun on the package, but is ultimately too shallow to enjoy." |

I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't hate Naruto. I don't like it either. I have absolutely no interest in Naruto whatsoever and I'd like nothing more than to be allowed to ignore it, but that's rarely the case. It pops up everywhere - in discussions, top viewed lists etcetera. This, added to the fact that judging by the comments about the amount of fillers in the series, it's just running to keep alive a franchise and not to tell a story. It makes an easy and prominent target, and a good representative for certain things many people dislike about the anime industry. Modified by mardraum, 12-07-07, 11:58 AM |

Lets see I loved Naruto when I started off .. That was my first anime(in original japanese) not dubbed tv anime. Anyhow it had a great start but after awhile it got repetitive and it just became worse as it progressed to a fillers which ruined the series for 2 and a half years. It created a big hype for shippuden after the long waited but left me feeling dissappointed cause I was hoping for more. So i still enjoy Naruto but I wont go all crazy over it like I used to. Probably being exposed to so many other animes thats how it turned out. I prefer Bleach and One Piece for the longer running anime rather than Naruto in that sense |

Out of curiousity, are there any sites that point out which episodes are filler, and which are not? |

MagicalEmi said: Out of curiousity, are there any sites that point out which episodes are filler, and which are not? Filler episodes are 102-106 and 136 to the last couple of minutes of 220 (the end of the series). It's a little more complicated with Shippuuden, since the filler material they've used there is sort of interwoven with the real story. I'm not as critical of filler material in general as some other people are. However, Naruto's was just exceptionally long and corresponded with a drop in animation quality. It also seemed to be sporadic, disconnected, and nonrelated, which at times provided a clear signal that it was filler, unlike, say, Bleach and the Bount Arc, which, to be completely honest, I might not have been able to distinguish as filler unless I had already read the manga. That being said, in my opinion, a few of the filler episodes were some of the funniest Naruto episodes ever. Chubby Paradise and Lee's Dojo to name a couple. |

Everything is just moving along so slowly in naruto right now, but of course, i just finished watching gurren lagann, and the pacing is significantly different. I still like naruto though, never hated it, but it should do a bit more in each episode to make us WANT to watch the next episode instead of just watching it for the sake of the anime being naruto, right now its better than the bleach episodes though i think. But i never get bored of any one piece episode because they're just hilarious xD |

I don't hate it (c'mon, it's a TV show, why get all worked up?) but I don't watch it because it's too long. I can't sit still through that many episodes. I don't have the time to do so. |

I don't hate Naruto. But in my opinion they screwed the anime a bit after 8x episodes. But the 80 first episodes are really worth watching. About Shippuuden, could be better. Watched about 25 episodes, but dropped it since the only thing they did was to talk. Like 15 mins with talking about the fight, and the rest with fighting/running. Just too boring for me >_< |

People hate Naruto because of THE FILLERS. lol, their attempt to slow their pace down to give time for the manga to have more volumes/chapters sort of drags the show. Honestly speaking, I enjoy watching Naruto and Naruto Shippuuden when there are lots of episodes of it on my hard drive, because there's hardly any significant movement happening on one episode. That's why I would download the episodes but not watch them right away. I'll wait for them to pile up and then I'll watch them. |
