Does the anime have more yuri than the manga? I just finished both mangas and there was not much yuri in then, but I always see this series listed as yuri. Someone here have watched the anime? How it is? Sorry any mistake, but english is not my native language. |

The anime is waaay better than the manga. For starters, in Mai HiME, Natsuki is NOT infatuated with baka-Tate, thus giving space for what are perhaps the best yuri moments in the whole series. In Mai Otome, there could be lots of pairing, though they obviously go for the straight path (but don't let that fool you! XD). Still, the pairings of Mai HiME are still the same. |

Just you know... to put my two cents in... Yuri does NOT = automatically better. Don't argue. You know that. Now, MH anime is better than the manga for mainly only one reason: It was an ACTION series put in manga form. True action series are always best seen in motion, hence anime form. And for the record, I'm about as yuri as you can get, and I still quite like the MH manga. So there. |

Yes, I know that a series' worth is not defined by the presence or not of yuri; I just consider it a plus =D And the manga was fanservice x200, losing a bit of its seriousness, thus another reason for me to prefer the anime. |

Regarding Mai Otome - I felt the subtext was much stronger, as in Mai-HIme we all knew that the only GL was Shiznat(yay) and maybe some thrown in for fanboy/fanservice. For Mai Otome, As for going down the 'straight path' theres no denying that Chie and Aoi were a couple...? That's what I gathered anyway. But yeah, subtext for Shiznat. < But I didn't see it that way, that was the 'official' stance :P |

The manga HiME/Otome are pieces of shit... (sorry but... >< ) There's more yuri in Mai Otome (anime) than My HiME (anime)... Mai Otome is just more tender and subtext in this matter. In My HiME the yuri is explicit and didn't interest me much. (I'm not really a big fan of Natsuki Shizuru I must say... I like way much Arika/Mashiro or Haruka/Yukino) But well, who likes My HiME more than Mai Otome, seriously ? (everybody except myself ?... Seriously... ? xD ) |

Seriously... ? xD ) I actually enjoyed Mai-ime more than My-Otome! Now I won't be judging these shows based on yuri factor, but simply the whole shows themselves. How I see it is... My-Otome > great show by itself, exciting plot, action, romance etc. But plot....incest, annoying leading female, absence of favourite characters... : / My-HiME > fantastic show, but if you watched it before My-Otome... Otome will dissapoint you IMO. This is because the alternate/parallel universe plot takes favourite characters and either 'dissapears' them until the end or changes their personality completely. Also... when it comes down to it. I prefered the plot line of HiME, just liked it better. @ - Lynx. To me I call it Mai-HIme because it obviously makes sense and thats what the subbing group I watched it with chose to translate it as. The English versions call it 'My HiME' though. and for Otome, yeah it's just 'My Otome'. |
