| Hmm, these events are more effective here than in David Pro's adaptation (which is the opposite of how it was with Stardust Crusaders). The biggest difference here is that we actually see Danny's death transpiring. Seems like Danny got the shaft in the anime, since the biggest changes so far have been with him. |

| The satisfaction acquired from giving Dio that well-deserved beating didn't last long because of how cruel Danny's murder was immediately afterwards. Having the wire tied around your muzzle melting while being burned alive must've been one of the most painful things ever. I wonder if George would've kicked out Dio if he went through with the attack because Jojo almost got shanked by that bastard but he might find an excuse to justify it because he's a Brando... The guilt proved to be too much for Erina to handle just like how Dio predicted it would and without the love of his family, his friends, his dog, and his lover, Jonathan had reached the lowest point in his life. Jojo sleeping for a while and realizing what happened afterwards got me ;~; |

| I do think I was on the right line of thought when I felt Dio’s ego may have been built off of a desperate attempt to mask his own insecurity. He grew up with a horrible life, his mother like Jonathan’s died and his father was awful. Further he was poor.. He came here with the idea that he was going to make something of his life and not let anyone get in the way of that. The bouts of anger he shows were a hint to me that he was prideful, but with how he cried when Jonathan beat him saying “how dare a dirty fool like you do this to me” and take a knife out almost to throw away all he’s worked for really spelt it out. I think Dio is simply overcompensating and striving for value, that’s why when he is on top he can be sick and sadistic but when he’s losing, he's a sore loser, he cries, he hits women, and he burns peoples dogs alive to deal with the humiliation. I did like how Dio showed self awareness by addressing how his anger is his weak point, he’s no good at controlling his emotions but with 7 years passing maybe he has now. I found the page of Jonathan in bed crying so sad. The glimpse we got of Danny’s doghouse and food bowl empty was so sad!!! Dio has successfully taken away his lifelong friend, his love, and ruined his peer's perception of him. The line from Jonathan’s dad about it only being natural for men to fight but beating on someone who can’t resist is not what a gentleman does is one I’m sure will come back. Perhaps Jonathan will grow to never go further than necessary and it also pokes fun at Dio, who won a fight with Jonathan and then poked his eye as well as calling him unable to resist- something I’m sure isn’t what he wants to hear. |
| Dio is a total scumbag. The original scene of Danny's death from the source material (manga) was way more gory and bloody than the one from its anime adaptation. Poor Danny. :( |

| Damn, they showed Danny burning here, it was way more gore. It was also nice how they showed more about Jojo and Danny friendship compared to the anime. |

| Despite giving the Phantom Blood "Anime" a low 8/10, I'll have to admit that the manga is better in terms of EVERYTHING! |
