| Okay I also didn't like this episode, it killed all the mystery of the series, all the tense of the previous episodes by throwing a video game like episode that wasn't very funny. Also what, the secret of the shounen bat is that he has spent too much playing video game? That's all? I was expecting something more mystical and less predictable. This episode was just fucking disappointing, I hope the others episodes will be better. And I hope this episode didn't killed all the worth of the series and that there's a deeper plot behind this... |
| While I agree with the fact that this episode was very offsetting in regards to the rest of the series, I think that it's part of a greater whole that is leading somewhere pretty creepy and badass. Knowing Kon's work.. it's never that simple. |

| I think lil slugger is fucking with their heads with all the video game stuff. I don't think that's all of his actual beliefs. And even if it was all true, it would make sense, because this anime has always been weird. |

| Will anyone actualy say what thoughts they have after watching this episode? Synopsis of the episode: The detectives question the Shonen bat. It turnes out that he followes some kind of superhero game, trying to save the world from the evil Gogol (whateva the name ~.~). But now the detectives are also a part of his game, and the audience is drawn into the imaginary world. --> personal understanment. So... do you guys have any ideas about the narative of this episode? Whose imagination are we drawn in? Is it the younger detective's mind that draws this scenery, or is it Shonen's game? |

| Hmmmmm.....very interesting episode indeed. It reminds me a lot of the MMORPG episode to Welcome to the NHK. However, that was directly related to that Anime in every way, dealing with otaku-ness and the severity to the pyche with being a shut in at home and all. But, that is besides the point entirely and even more so to this discussion/Anime. Now, as people have said on here, I agree 100% that this is RPG-esque "other dimension" or "world" is going to lead into something much bigger and quite possibly the show in general. That it is going to set the stage for what Lil' Slugger is thinking and or the intentions for why he is attacking people around the city. But, as well as some one stated on here already, Lil' Slugger could be just buying some time with filling the detective's head with utter complete nonsense to get him off of his trail. To make them think really hard as he attacks more people. Or, it could be he has some sort of psychological disorder within his brain that makes him see this way. Hey, it could happen. There has been a lot of Anime and movies in general that there is some disorder that hinters reality forever for that person. And, I mean as well we already have seen a confirmed psychological disorder with Harumi. Dissociative Identity Disorder. So, why not Lil' Slugger, too? |

| That episode took me three freaking days to get through. Please, please, please let there be no more complete and utter stupidity like that kid was doing. More murder, less roleplaying, plz! |
| Seems some people just don't like a little delving into the character. I've had friends who have had similar delusions, and this hit quite close to home. Everything seems to fit very well, and it all makes sense, unlike a lot of other attempts at insanity that other anime try to do. |

| So episode 3 was Perfect Blue and episode 5 was Millennium Actress. Satoshi Kon's style is definitely distinctive, I'll give him that. This episode wouldn't work all too well in a vacuum, but I think it'll have its place in the series on a whole. |
