Both of those Characters are alive in dragon ball second series (Z). In the original show they both had a prominent role, but after the start of the second series they were quickly pushed aside and made fodder. The guy is saying that Luang is made out to be some amazingly bad ass gunpla fighter and we only get to see a few glimps. He makes a comeback to land in the finals and people think "Wow we get to see him fight for real without a stupid bat!" But be is beaten off screen very badly against a weak looking mobile suite. Thus his status being that of a dbz char. We probably won't see him anymore excerpt for stupid side conversations. No one actually thinks he's dead. |

| Man, this series is just the tops. I haven't enjoyed Gundam like this since 00 S1. Amazing work. I'm a little sad about Luang going down versus the Renato Bros., but I knew they were going to be a problem since they looked untrustworthy and like cheaters from the jump. Looks like they'll give Kawaguchi a challenge though (y'know, from cheating) so I guess that's something. Couple other mentions: - Mao lost because he likes Emma Sheen. Bitch was wack. - Someone mentioned "GM master race". LOL. How come grunt suits get so much love online? |

(The Balls and a Gundam or two may have helped along the way, but that's never been confirmed.) |

The feels I'm remembering looking at one of those figures. Misaki came to cheer on Mao. Holy crap. Misaki got smaller oppai than China. Dat Mao sword. Mao lost. Luang lost. |

| This episode felt unfocused. Mao's backstory was okay but sort of silly. His mentor is a gross perv that plays up every old trope. I was expecting some fight prep stuff instead of Mao whining and then seeing his backstory. The fight itself was well choreographed but lacked a real punch. The lesson seems to be that Mao needs to focus on what he loves about Gunpla. That's cool and all, but I don't really see how Sei and Reiji won that fight with a weaponless Mobile Suit versus a ridiculously giant sword. |
