I clicked on a mass message from Seireitei and now, I can browse the internet, posts on this thread without getting connected to the internet. This is definitely very bad.. I don't feel any negative effects of it but this can't be good. Anybody figured anything out and would like to share as to what had happened and what can be done now? I would like to browse the internet while connected to it as oppose to browsing without the need to connect online.

Wha?

If you are able to post a thread, you're connected to the internet.

However, I did press disconnect. I even turned off my DSL modem and boot it back up, yet I can browse the internet without the need of connecting online which is very strange.

I clicked on a Seireitei mass message link which brings me to a pop-up website known as PorkSpin.com

I have already reported it to the mods yet I haven't received any replies.

I received a mass message from Seireitei & The 13 Court Guards which says click here and so, I did without thinking. And it led me to this problematic website that have done something to my internet connection. I have non-wireless DSL service and currently, it feels as though I am connected online through a wireless channel. Is there a way to leave the wireless channel and get back to original DSL service?

I used Mozilla v4.7, pretty outdated.

By the way, my wireless internet button is switched off.

Assuming you're on a PC, double click the two monitors on the bottom right in your tray or go to the Control Panel-->Network Connections, to see if you auto-connected to a wireless.

The only possible thing I can think of. You're obviously connected to someone's internet, be it your own or a neighbors.

Strangely, no..

My wireless button is switched off on my laptop. It isn't possible to be connected online that way. I am still trying to figure things out..

It appears that it automatically connects me online to my DSL service and won't let me disconnect unless I disable my ethernet card. Perhaps, I have to give it a check..

Unplug your ethernet cord from your laptop please. If you lost internet for some reason, I think this overly-complicated grand mystery will be solved.

I already unplugged my ethernet cord and as soon as I plug it back in, I am online again. I haven't tried restarting my computer because I don't know what will happen afterwards.

Did you try disabling the device from the Network Connections/Device Manager?
