In the Viz translation, the "Edo Iroha Karuta game" part is missing, removed from the publication by decision of the editors.
Anyone know what it was?

It was missing from the Japanese edition as well, probably because the proverb would've been the following: "Kattai no kasa urami. (Even the leper envies the syphilitic.)"
At least that's the most common at the "ka" part of every edo iroha karuta list I could find.
And that's not a very appropriate proverb in a shoujo manga, is it? :)

I'm astonished that they'd edit this out though, seems a little over the top censorship there!
