| Yeah thats what I hear aswell. SEED is decent, Destiny is just one big trainwreck. Shame Gundam 00 followed the same pattern. S1 - Decent to Good S2 - Just a flop, but a huge sucess anyway. |

| From some Sci-Fi movie review site: Patlabor: The Movie **1/2 said: In my review of Ghost in the Shell I said that Japanese animation (anime) can be more than a bunch of RoboTech type giant robots manned by wide-eyed Pokemon style kids beating the crap out of each other. You wouldn't think it watching Patlabor: The Movie (incidentally also directed by Mamoru Oshii, who would direct Ghost in the Shell later on). Blade Runner **** said: True, the plot is riddled with more holes than one may bother picking, but the combination of fantastic special effects, intense violence and situations, an uniquely downcast tone and ending makes for a not-to-be-missed film; one which at times is difficult to have been actually produced by Hollywood. So pointless special effects and violence are, "OMG THIS IS AWESOME!" despite the billion plot holes but mecha is, "hurr this is stupid." This is why /m/, for all its stupidity, is still better than most of the internet. |
| /m/ may have a lot of bad points, but at least it doesn't combine my two most hated things: people who try to make Blade Runner out to be amazing when it is a terrible, terrible film and people who bash animation because it isn't all deadpan drama. Likewise on the nice avatar Feez. Where is that from anyway? |
