Like the newest metal bands I listen to are Deicide and Demolition Hammer. I dunno I find a lot of the newer metal bands boring as hell. I tried getting into Meshuggah and Mastodon but they weren't very interesting to me plus the vocals weren't very good at all. I listened to Darkthrone's album Transilvanian Hunger and it was OK at first but got really repetitive and dull despite having a decent sound.

Anyway bands I do enjoy include Bathory, Voivod, and Carcass :D

I'm using a tablet and I can't watch the Ghost video.

I hate Lamb of God.

Slipknot is a joke and I can't believe you called them extreme :P

Don't care for Trivium

I like Exodus but that doesn't really count as new at all.

Hope I didn't come off as a jerk just figured it would best help to be blunt.

Don't have any real reccomendations 'cause youtube and just about everything is blocked at work . . . however; check out 'The Browning' - not really in the same sub-genre as you're asking but have a lot of people who seem to like 'em

There's Black Metal, I think it's pretty extreme.

Sombres Forêts is my favorite -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Y6i1GmGO60 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1yccXXE0pg

Mortifera is also great -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YulTtmyopNQ

Darkspace is amazing as well -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBHnJNEbNZw

I would also recommend Drudkh -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6vO9F2Lmvg

Some substance-over-style picks that have stood the test of time:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hmd_5k4kEbI

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=374Vz2CBq_g

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHM74p_QcTM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9g_ztD0KzI

Not exactly new, but metal has been pretty stagnant since at least year 2000.

Acephalix, Hate Eternal, Dead Congregation, Funebrarum, Goatwhore, Skeletonwitch, Incoming Cerebral Overdrive, Tribulation, While Heaven Wept, Akercocke, Aosoth, Midnight, Diskord, Entrails, Horn of the Rhino, Lord Mantis, Lurker of Chalice, Subrosa, Vektor

This is harder than I thought it would be, most of my favs are 90s bands.

You obviously haven't been to one of their shows. They aren't live as they used to be but damn. The best is when Corey Taylor gets everyone to sit down then jump up during the end of Surfacing. A lot of metal bands suck today though. They all think it's about screaming and playing fast. Five Finger Death Punch has a good vocalist and so does Oceano.

Machine Head
Burn my eyes
The more things change

Their first two albums are heavy even though I started from The blackening but I like The more things change though their later album are more progressive.

Entombed first two albums are good but I think you listened to them before?

Protector - Reanimated Homunculus
I found them while I was at a local metal store you could give it a try.

Honestly, its hard to find good bands nowadays

Dude Swans was known for playing so loud it drove their own fans out of the audience lol. Also the front man had a thing for pulling peoples hair if caught them head banging and stepping on their fingers if they put their hands on stage. Real life though he seems like a nice guy. I guess at least he doesn't try to kill his audience like danger music artists do.

Check out Obliteration, they're like the new Autopsy:

Maybe you'll like some of Darkthrone's more recent stuff, it's quite a bit different from their Transilvanian Hunger days:

Recommending Killswitch in a death/black metal thread... lol might as well tell him to listen to Justin Beiber

This is bit more tricky since black metal wise I prefer the first wave over the second and just older metal in general.

Speaking of Autopsy how about Chris Reifert's other band Abscess?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heda-yoJl7w

Impaled Nazarene Finnish black metal - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QfpOTfB6PA

Nifelheim Swedish thrash/black metal - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4iMhw6bu78

Japanese black/avant garde metal, one of the best ones along with Sabbat and Abigail in my opinion - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfRGvrfdpds

Not extreme or heavy metal or anything but a band inspired by alot of older rock and doom bands like Sabbath, Pentagram, etc - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWSQGXHv2eQ

Oh yeah those were all pretty damn good! I think I'll check more into those. Nifelheim reminds me a bit of Sarcofago.

OP, it's obvious you like thrash. Modern thrash does have some good stuff:

Deathhamer - Onwards to the Pits
Vektor - Hunger for Violence
Antichrist - Dark Sorcery
Fastkill - Kill for Pleasure
Midnight - Lust, Filth, and Sleaze
Speedwolf - Speedwolf

What have you heard in the way of oldschool thrash? Have you heard Razor, Dark Angel, Overkill, Morbid Saint, Rigor Mortis, Sadus, etc?

Yes I've heard the mentioned bands and I love thrash but I do prefer Bathory over any thrash band. I was aiming more for bands who weren't just new but sounded old. I feel like I'm cheating if they are trying to sound old lol.

Well, let's see...
I think you might enjoy these bands:
Morbus Chron, their first album is heavily influenced by early Autopsy, one of the best 2000's death metal albums for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIgmUBABod

Bölzer, they only have one demo and one EP, but don't let that stop you. I believe they deserve all the attention they can get, really original black/death.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXkP4WS8Y_Y

Bastardator, punk influenced thrash at it's best.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdtyHEMUPj4

Repugnant, they only have one album and a handful of EPs/demos, but all of their music is superb. Pure old school death/thrash worship.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0txKhaw-WaE

Massemord, polish modern black metal.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0E6FB4iYBfs

And last but not least, Blaze of Perdition. I'll let their music do the talking. I recommend it highly.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLYeBe91N5U

Those are the first "newer" bands I can think of, I hope that helps.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3IPO_lbtQs

Like Flies On Flesh
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq1DEzvZOuw

Amebix (its an 80's band, but they reformed for a new album some years ago and that sounds completely diffrent)

How did Death not make the death metal list?

Thread needs some Prurient. He did a split with Sutcliffe Jügend in 2008 I believe. Anyway, don't click people if you aren't into noise and power electronics although I shouldn't really have to say that in an extreme music thread.
