| maybe it's the wrong word. the thing is mal has to deal with all these avatars and profile pics, when it doesn't need to, they can be stored externally by people. it's actually the reason why i ended up changing my anime list. the profile pics, avatars, and list wallpapers are stored on MAL, and it takes up space and server time to access. when the list wallpapers weren't loading i noticed that some people who were using advanced css coding to make their lists still had wallpapers, because using that code, they could keep their wallpapers on pages like photobucket. if people had the option of storing say, their profile pics on external servers, it would take some of the strain off of the mal servers. |

| A recent update from Xinil: Xinil said: Due to some changes in the content distribution network on MAL, user avatars/images/profile pics/wallpapers (basically everything) will have delays in when they update. This could take 5 minutes or 5 hours. Rest assured I'm looking in to making it update quicker, but right now, it's a problem I haven't been able to fix.
