We Railganks managed to kick the so called annoying Tenshi and the so called red hair wtf in SE 2011, with a good scheme, we vote the weaker one, so we managed to make shana to the final, there she's just crushed easily due to Tenshi's fans grudge and of course Railganks... I just want to laugh... THE GODLY QUEEN OF MOE MISAKA MIKOTO GOT THE TIARA... In ISML 2012 we also managed to get a good scheme to kick the most annoying brats, but now that stupid "can't speak properly" Nagato Yuki ruined it at once... Karma huh? Fuck the world....*flip table* Sorry but now I saw this.I wanted some characters of higurashi to at least be in the contest like hanyuu (cuteness overload) or rena but neither made it..It seems this anime is old and people forgot about them -.- But yeah that bitch from yosuga no sora made it.I don't know what's cute about her.Maybe that she's in love with her brother? :/ At least Kanade won this year who is at least cute for me compared to Mikoto.   |

Hey, I'm allowed to rage here right? ok there should be an independent international voting for male too, the result of male tournament in ISML is really......meh... I mean the one that won are male chara from shows like angel beats, kami nomi zo shiru sekai and so on... anime that popular among male watcher. Yuzuru is not that special, I mean he won just because Angel Beats is popular among male watcher. And Keima, Hideyoshi......they are not cool or badass... at all. >.> I understand Lelouch but c'mon... Yuzuru won against GINTOKI?! Kyon won against EDWARD?! Hibari lost in the first round?! Yeah of course 85% of isml voters are male who loves moe, tsunderes, harem and ecchi anime. Stupid me.... I hope someone make international saiGAR league, and let the 90% of the female voters prove how stupid the results of male tournament in isml.. >.> I actually join voting just for fun since I had several favorite female character too but seeing how the male tournament turn out to be like this, it's so..... annoying, I just realized that this place is for....... yeah males.... sorry bye~ end of rant |

^ I'm a male and I agree with you.The results of the male tournament are very stupid sometimes.How is possible for Hideyoshi to be in the semi-final when he acts like a girl? :@ At least the winners were good but it would be nice for a great character from an older anime like Ed or Allen to win too sometime.. |

The problem comes from the female exhibition matches being run at the same time. In the first round, when there were no such exhibition matches, the votes were roughly 50/50 split between male voters and females. By round 2, however, the female exhibition matches were included as well, and so there were a lot of voters who wouldn't have voted without them. The female vote share dropped from 49% to 38%, and it only continued to drop from there on out. If they were run separately (with perhaps some male exhibition matches to keep up the number of things to vote in), there is no reason to believe that the female vote share would not have stayed around the 50% mark - and those males who voted would be actually interested in it and not just voting because they're "voting for the girls anyway so why not?" That said, the male vote only actually increased by 300 or so, whereas the female vote slumped by about 1500. So maybe the problem is more that the female voters stop voting, rather than that the male voter numbers surge? |
