Some people regard this special as an attempt at retribution for the manner in which the series ended. Kind of a like a little, here's something extra so you don't feel so bad. But seeing as how this takes place within season two, it's just another mid-series story, nothing following the conclusion (but that might have been interesting). This episode is a funny one, and definitely softens the hit that the ending gives you, but it's really about two things:ecchi and ecchi na no wa ikenai to omoimasu. It's all about chasing the boys around making sure they can't have their dirty thoughts, and it's pretty good. I was hoping for something else/more to the story with the special, but it is what it is.

As someone who doesn't mind the ending, I can say easily....

This episode was very, very funny

I loved it. I tend to like good special eps of my favorite anime (meta)series. I never get tired of Mahoro saying, "Dirty thoughts are bad!" They finally explained how her attitude towards ecchi began.
