| Ao Haru Ride Shōjo Manga Gets TV Anime "The February issue of Shueisha's Betsuma magazine is announcing on Saturday that a television anime adaptation of Io Sakisaka's Ao Haru Ride (Blue Spring Ride) shojo manga has been green-lit. The anime will star Yuuki Kaji (Attack on Titan's Eren, Guilty Crown's Shū) as Kō Mabuchi, and Maaya Uchida (Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live's Wakana, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions' Rikka) as Futaba Yoshioka. More cast for the anime will be announced in the next issue of the magazine. In addition, a drama CD featuring the anime's cast will also be bundled with the limited edition of the tenth compiled volume of the manga. The original story in the drama CD is written by Sakisaka. The CD will also have cast comments at the end of the CD. The bundle will be released in Japan on May 23. According to the magazine, the manga currently has over 4.42 million copies in print. Ao Haru Ride revolves around Futaba, a girl who was in love with a boy named Kō Tanaka in middle school. However, after a misunderstanding, their relationship as friends ends when he transfers schools over summer vacation. In high school, her world is turned around once again when she meets Kō again, this time under the name of Kō Mabuchi. Sakisaka began her Ao Haru Ride manga in the magazine in 2011, and Shueisha is shipping the ninth compiled volume in Japan on Friday. The manga was also ranked as one of the top twenty shojo manga reccomended by professionals in the fields of manga and publishing. Viz publishes Sakisaka's Strobe Edge manga in North America." | Oh wow best news ever!!! I like the casting too, and although I love Kaji Yuuki, I also thought Kaji Yuuki might be a better Touma than Kou. But I'm sure he won't disappoint, it'll probably just take time to get used to him voicing Kou :) Maaya Uchida seems to be pretty fitting for Futaba too. So excited! |

| I was so happy when I heard this. I was thinking while I was reading this "If only it was an anime." Guess I got lucky. I honestly don't mind Kaji Yuki voicing Kou. I mean he's a good voice actor, but I guess it just doesn't suit Kou too much. Oh well I don't mind. Maybe Hiroshi would have been a better voice actor. Besides all the voice acting I really just wanna see how well the anime goes, and the characters. I really wanna see Touma and Kou. Overall I can't wait for the anime. |

| I was so happy when I heard that Ao Haru Ride will get an anime :) But when I heard that Kaji Yuki's gonna be Kou, I WAS DISAPPOINTED. Not that I hate him, in fact kinda enjoy his other roles like Eren or Alibaba. But... I just don't want him to be Kou! T.T It hurts me so much that my Kou's ganna be dubbed by Kaji Yuki </3 I wanted Nakamura Yuuichi or Miyano Mamoru or Sakurai Takahiro to dub Kou. But yeah, since the decision has been done I can't complain anymore </3 |
