Well, if you read or watched an manga/anime and you think: "that person must have some autism spectrum disorder", suggest him/her. That way, he/she can be on the list! edit 14-01-2010 Please do state why you feel a character should be added. Please say why someone seems autistic. Thanks in advance. Both were added already. However, I like the idea that you'd think along. Thanks for your contribution. Come and look around at the autism club or the Yakuza FC! |

Sunako Yozo Oba Satou-kun Jun Sakurada Aren't you suggesting a girl that has been bullied thus got introverted and a schitzophrenic? I don't know the characters Tatsuhiro Satou and Jun Sakurada; but Tatsuhiro Satou is called a Hikokomori? I know the rest of the world doesn't know the term Hikokomori and gives one a 'waste bucked' pdd-nos, but still....? Come and look around at the autism club or the Yakuza FC! |

Sunako Yozo Oba Satou-kun Jun Sakurada Aren't you suggesting a girl that has been bullied thus got introverted and a schitzophrenic? A hikikomori: they're afraid to face people. They're paranoid, insecure and very egocentric, the reason why they don't talk, simple, they're too busy with themselves, thinking what other people might think of THEM. The only thing they have to learn is that people just don't care. (don't these traits remind you very much asperger syndrome.) A lot of hikikomori's are autistic, somebody with social capabilities wouldn't hide all day long (even years) in their house! If Satou isn't autistic or someone with autistic traits, then please give me a head shot or two. ![]() |

I am an asperger, and definitely an einzelgänger. So I do understand where you're coming from. I'll add them. Come and look around at the autism club or the Yakuza FC! |

Back on the hikikomori-thing... I think that I have really high chances to become one. First I blamed leaving my house once in the two weeks to illness, but now I'm going to school again and still haven't got a social life. My mother is starting to call me a hermit, and my mother in law tells me I'd definitely shouldn't have a home-job in the future 'cs I'd alienate... But I have a feeling that has more to do with me being misanthropic than me being afraid of social contact. Especially when I am reading welcome to the NHK right now. That dude is totally paranoid. And he seems to be fairly good in reading people, but awkward in responding. You'd qualify that as autism? Come and look around at the autism club or the Yakuza FC! |

I've read the NHK novel before and seen half of the anime (which I need to finish someday), so I'm familiar with the character. Satou's hikokimori syndrome was something he had developed through an incident that occurred just before he started college. Before that, he was a regular teenager. I didn't notice any signs of his indicating that he could be autistic, so no, I don't think Satou is autistic. |

Hmm, I think maybe Tachibana Kanade may display somes signs of AS? She has difficulty interacting with the characters, she is very pedantic, and maybe her use of Guard Skills are an intense interest of hers. At first she seems very insensitive and unaware of people's feelings, although that isn't really entirely the case. I may be wrong, I just remember thinking of those I know with Asperger's whilst I was watching Angel Beats. |

I never heard of the character or the series before, but the way you describe it it sounds very plausible. I'll add her. Come and look around at the autism club or the Yakuza FC! |

Has anyone read the new shounen jump called SWOT? How does Manabizaki strike you? I kind of think of him as a Savant with his calculations, and his strange obsession with aliens... Should I add him? Come and look around at the autism club or the Yakuza FC! |

Haruhi Suzumiya Fuko Ibuki These two show strong signs of Aspergers (Which I have myself). They seem to only have one primary interest (Occult for Haruhi and Starfish for Fuko) and also just give off that sort of vibe. |

I added Haruhi Suzumiya. I couldn't find Fuko Ibuki with the character search. Or did you possibly mean Fuuko Ibuki? Come and look around at the autism club or the Yakuza FC! |
