| Interesting that Shigeru had met Reiko :o It's pretty crazy that he's taking care of her grandson but he doesn't even know it. |

| An episode set primarily at Natsume's house. We learn about Shigeru's childhood with Reiko, and of how she drove out a malevolent youkai from his house that's now back for revenge! That's right, I forgot Natsume was adopted. I remember thinking from what we heard about her in season one that Reiko was pretty unlikable as a person, but she was very kind to Shigeru in the flashback shown here. And pretty badass in dealing with those obnoxious bully older boys and that youkai. Definitely the most positive I've felt about her so far. Pretty trippy seeing that youkai try to chew Natsume before Nyanko saved him. And quite an explosive finale. I doubt Natsume will ever tell his guardians he can see the youkai, but I kinda wish he would. His thought of how Reiko had to keep it from Shigeru for his own good and remain alone was pretty sad, but par for the course with this series. Still, I at least don't see as nearly as lonely a life for him. |

| I'm surprised to see that this episode is the best-rated of all.. 94% 5-stars.. Just wow. I absolutely like this episode but it's not among my top 5 favorites.. Maybe it's because I'm not very much a fan of Reiko (don't take me wrong - I do like her). Or maybe I'm just dumb. |

| This was easily the best episode of the series so far for quite a few reasons. I have't cared for a whole lot for most of the episodic adventures this series so far, but this was quite nice. I still really wanna see Natsume actually open up to some of the people around him. |
| In the first few seconds of the episode, it was clear that something had changed. The direction had improved and the characters were far more expressive. The animation feels rougher in a sense, but definitely better. The characters are more lively and move in a more human way. Before, it was a bit more stiff. Overall, great episode and I’m really happy with the changes. |
| Just like Reiko, Natsume eliminated the Yokai. He protected his home and it felt emotional to hear Shigiru tell it to him. Great episode. Everything was just so in sync and fluid. |

Could be a mildly interesting prank to start drawing that same graffiti around one's neighbourhood in front of random homes. |

| Amazing episode!!!!! I loved everything about this episode! Definitely the best episode of this show so far 5/5 for this epiosde and 9/10 for this season Overall great anime so far and madara is a amazing character lol |

| I was quite happy that after last episode's adorable moment with Touko, Natsume gets a bit closer to Shigeru this time around. As always, I love Reiko's involvement in the episode, though it was kind of strange (and also a bit sad) that Shigeru knew Reiko but not that she is Natsume's grandmother. This episode actually made me think, if she was such a loner that rarely made long-standing relationships with humans, how come she managed to get into a romantic relationship that lead to family and kids. I wonder what type of person managed to win her trust or just change her to some extent. |
