Okay so most of those how have seen both Durarara and Bacano have noticed the Issac and Miria appear in both shows leading me to think that they both exist in the same world. So I was thinking that it would kind of make a lot of sense if Izaya were an immortal. Here's my thinking: first he makes repeated comments about how fun humans are as if he isn't one, also there is the fact that he can go head to head with Shizuo and still manage to be living. Thoughts anyone? Evidence either way?

Definitely not, in a light novel summary I read awhile I back, Izaya was talking (to Celty I think) about his fear and disdain of death and the afterlife.
He talks about humans because he spends his time observing them, thus disconnecting himself from being 'one of them' (ie being human). And the reason he can go head to head with Shizu-chan is because Izaya has some raw parkour and dodging skills.
