THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It's really too bad that episode 20 discussion was not recovered from the recent MAL crash. Well, let's start the episode discussion for those still hanging around here. -a bit anticlimatic battle with Graham -starts pretty slow first half (too much recycled animation + sloppy animation) -Mannequin allies with CB = good -Ribbons killed? I think he has more clones of himself for sure (see him in the preview) -somewhat anticlimactic battle, hopefully next one is going to be better... (anyone wants to repost episode 20 discussion?) |

Graham was pretty badass back in season 1... but now, he's just a lame wannabe space samurai. I was going to lolz if he was really going to commit seppuku in space. So the Gundams finally get their long awaited new equipment not to mention 0 Gundam. They get their ass beaten down for a bit until Kataron and the anti-Federation forces showed up. Mannequin makes her return \o/. That A-LAWS guy finally died; that annoying bastard. It seems that Feldt is starting to harbor some feelings towards Setsuna? Lolzwut? That came out of nowhere. I feel sorry for her though, since Setsuna's one true love is Gundam. |

The fight with Setsuna and Graham was a little bit weak but the bigger fight between A-Laws and the Gundams+Kataron+Mannequin was pretty good. Also pretty cool seeing 0 Gundam in the picture, I just wonder who will pilot it. I would guess Ribbons will probably be joining the fight pretty soon with his army of red headed clones considering he was still in the preview after being shot in the head.... |

Graham got owned too fast imo, but then again he was up against the Setsuna's cheap 00... They could've shortened the moment where everyone on CB talked about their motivations in fighting, since we already know them, but it wasn't too bad. During the second part of the episode, with the battle, my reaction was "OMGWTFBBQ !" the whole time. It just reminded me (again) why I'm watching this show despite some really weak episodes, bad writing, hilarious dialogs that were meant to be serious, etc... Oh and... FATTY IS FINALLY DEAD! Yeah! :D Setsuna x Feldt... Yeah right... Besides, she deserves better than a Gundamophile. :p Kati joining the coup d'état was expected, though I would have preferred an epic Kati vs Sumeragi battle. Ribbons is now officially Emperor Palpatine. Clone Wars ftw? They could've avoided spoiling us with the preview though, but then again, nobody would've believed that Ribbons went down so easily. The good: -this was the first time in a long time that the music deserved attention. It certainly created the atmosphere for the frenzied battle between A-LAWS vs. CB/Katharon/Kati's forces. -speaking of Katharon, they finally did something? w00T? -that fatass is finally dead. he was an eyesore from the very beginning and I'm glad to see him finally bite the dust, even if its 21 episodes too late. -Graham pondering on his actions and not remaining as Brosuna's stalker. -Lasse is well and kicking. abs of steel is the best plot armor of them all. -Shirin. nuff' said -Patrick! FUCK YEAR! The bad: -did they really need to reinforce CB's motivations for before this battle? wasn't that already obvious? is this some sort of last ditch attempt at character development that this season has really lacked? -lol @ random shipping -the animation for that battle wasn't that exceptional. though that was kind of to be expected, in preparation for the final showdown. still, pretty lousy production values by the animators. -the preview killed the suspense of the epilogue. what exactly was the point of that if they are gonna show Ribbons living and breathing in the end? the WTF: Modified by Avarice, 03-08-09, 11:56 PM |

This, this was the sort of episode that should have been on last week. Reintroduce old characters, (HUGE kudos for bringing Kati and Patrick back, double kudos for actually putting Patrick in a suit even though I think he's a bit o-baka XD), and the blonde fattie deserved to die. Battles, character development, fighting for what you want, and a shock to the hierarchy/leadership of the villains. And Graham's conflict with himself was excellent. I didn't mind the pep talk before the huge battle, since last week, the episode was so focused on the development of Setsuna's character, along with Louise's revenge and Graham's stalking that it was a straying down a lane less traveled. It was an episode to cut a few ends that needed cutting. Bringing it back together and refocusing this week was a bit of a necessity, IMO. Now, about Ribbons getting shot. Yes, he's shown in the preview to the next episode. But here's the thing: Innovators are not immortal. Otherwise Bring would still be alive. And viewers won't worry about the possibility of Tieria losing his life. So what if the clip of Ribbons that showed up in the preview was snipped from a flashback? Because outside the possibility of Regene having shot someone else, I don't see how Ribbons can still be alive. I don't think Ribbons's influence is over, since I don't think he's stupid enough to just hand over the keys to his army. And please, Tieria battling the Innovators. Thank you. |

Damn, too bad Setsuna didn't kill that shotakon Graham. I hope he redeems the terrible character he's become by joining CB. Feldt x Setsuna? Not as bad as Marina x Setsuna but pretty random. I was wondering what Corlasaur and Katie were up to and lo and behold, they've switched sides. The battle wasn't bad, and it was cool to see Katharon come in, but it felt like they were just going through the motions. Not terribly exciting. Goldeneyeuro said: Now, about Ribbons getting shot. I don't believe Ribbons is dead, because they've spent too much time building him up to be the main villain just to have him get randomly off'd by Regene. If he knew Regene's treacherous thoughts, I imagine he had a contingency planned. |

If he knew Regene's treacherous thoughts, I imagine he had a contingency planned. True, true, but if Ribbons knew that Regene hated him, wouldn't something along the lines of "Oh, maybe she will try to kill me" go off in his head? It's like he knew her hatred and tried to control her uprising by turning her back into his subordinate. Because when he told Regene he detected her hatred, both sets of eyes went off. It seems Regene was able to break free of his influence for long enough to shoot him, and he was shot with a slight shocked look to his face, kind of like he wasn't expecting Regene to go to such lengths. Ribbons is the kind of Innovator who likes to let things happen to other people, but not let anyone even touch him, so he plans things out to fit that ideal. So if he knew that Regene would try to take his life, wouldn't he have tried to prevent himself from being shot? And I do think the producers still have a few twists to throw at us viewers in the last couple of episodes, and Regene emerging from the shadows sounds... tempting... especially since Tieria will be the most at odds with her and he hasn't been focused on much... |

"Goldeneyeuro" said: This is the guy who out of nowhere back stabbed the final boss fight second form in season one. He's gone this far by protecting his butt perfectly and he has always spoke pretty bluntly when he has a plan so I doubt he's dead and if they were to kill off Ribbons so easily, that would be the single most stupid plot twist ever in gundam history.Ribbons is the kind of Innovator who likes to let things happen to other people, but not let anyone even touch him, so he plans things out to fit that ideal. So if he knew that Regene would try to take his life, wouldn't he have tried to prevent himself from being shot? Anyways the ep had its moments, but the only things worth noting was the Setsuna X Feldt going on, 0 gundam mods, and the never ending missiles that Archer Arios had. |

I didn't mind the touching parts in this episode actually. I thought it was a nice lead in to the epic fight scene that followed. I mean this is basically the final battle that we are coming to, so I think it was good to see the CB come together and have that talk before some of our characters start to bite the dust. The pep talk and the scenes following actually made me like Lyle and Allelujah a little more. I actually loved how Alle called Soma by her name, despite her finally saying he could call her Marie. It's like he's finally accepting her as is. Then Lyle saving Teira made me feel like he cares about more then just his own little world. I actually kinda liked Feldt's moment with Setsuna despite it being random as some have said. I thought it was a sweet "I really care about you" gesture. Feldt has been around Setsuna for years and has probably realized the changes Setsuna has made, and finds herself admiring that about him. Kati = WIN! Her and Patrick fighting with the CB was completely awesome. I'm so glad Kati got to own Author before Setsuna finalized the ownage. The Ribbons getting shot scene was intense, until they showed him in the first second of the preview -_-; I'm defiantly looking forward to how this battle pans out, I mean the battle got off to a pretty nice start already. |
