This series was awesome! I loved the music, the story, and the world so much its like no other anime that I have seen yet. I would have loved to see the story continue especially to see more of Youko and her reign as Empress, it felt very satisfying to see the people of her land finally have a good ruler (especially after the last ruler) and I liked where the teacher at the orphanage says to Youko that a ruler cant get married so they must think of the people of their land as their children. The thought of Youko being an Empress who fiercely protects her people with a fiery spirit and that long red hair sounds very appealing. I would have loved to see her become known as a legendary ruler on par with the ruler who they were referring to in such high regard that created the monkey scabbard for her sword. The banners for the army in her kingdom had an awesome design too, the black flag with a golden dragon, I loved her coronation ceremony where they showed her whole imperial army with all their banners and military uniforms.

Its so sad that they ended the series so abruptly, if I loved the story of Youko so much im pretty sure that I would have loved the story of the other kingdoms just as much.

Its sad that I only found out about this anime recently, thats probably one of the reasons why it stopped airing (lack of funds) due to not many people knowing about the series when it was airing back in 2002-2003.

There is still a book of this series, telling some more things, like what happened to Taiki, if i remenber well.

I could see this getting a reboot since the series' author started writing again. And there's been examples of older animes getting new series like Full Metal Panic. Let's hope :)
