Wow, this episode had so much going on and a majority of this stuff was glorified exposition. Oh well, at least it is good exposition.

I am slightly confused as to what was going on. It kept jumping back and forth that I wasn't sure if Akihito was dead, dreaming, in a coma, some weird reality Mirai is trapped in.

By the time it was over, I sort of understood what was going on. Mirai isn't "dead." She seems to be trapped in this Beyond the Boundary where it seems like sort of an alternative universe. Needless to say, HOLY CRAP this series got really interesting. It's a shame there wasn't more character development because this series is really clever.

I liked this episode, some things made more sense now. Though it was pretty confusing, took me a while to figure out what was real and what wasn't. I look forward to episode 11, I'm interested in what Mirai is going to do next.

Had a feeling Aki was dreaming. Also found it interesting that Mirai was supposed to kill Aki all along, no wonder she was so persistent in the beginning.

I love how they handle this. They clear up the confusion about the last episode, but also adds more confusion in the same episode. It leaves the viewers wanting more, well at least me.

I thought this show was a decent watch, but I wasn't really expecting too much from it. The episode really made me reflect on all the small moments of previous episodes and how Mirai must have felt during those moments, and how some of her feelings may have been contrived. This show has taken a new complexity, and I love it. I hope we have a happy ending, and this episode upgraded the show from decent to excellent.

I don't even mind those two filler episode ( I actually found them quite hillarous)

Mirai went to face "Kyoukai no Kanata"/Akihito's Youmu in that frozen world. Akihito ( the one we all know and love ) is all better. Now he's gonna save Mirai in the next episode!!!! XD

Wait, so where is Beyond the Boundary right now? Is it inside Kuriyama-san or is she in the real world?
I believe that unless you know for sure that you don't like a concept, you should keep exploring it. Whether it be characteristics of people or a genre of some sort, you never know if you don't like it until you've seen quality work corresponding to that genre. Keep exploring until you've found something you enjoy, or something of quality. Then you know what's bad, what's good, and what isn't for you.

And people were complaining back then how ridiculous that Mirai would suddenly want to kill Akihito again and again... and then how stupid and annoying Mirai was in pushing away Akihito again and again.

This episode is the turning point but I have to say perhaps a bit too much explanation was squeezed in one episode and a lot of things look messy and hard to understand. Also putting a turning point this late can mean a lot of people may have given up hope of finding explanation for things they find odd and out of place in the many previous episodes, which would be a shame.

Back then it was clearly used for comedy, the tone even indicated it at the time. That was content from the Light Novel. This is original stuff so they're trying to tie it together but it's kind of patchwork. I guess I at least appreciate the effort, but it's kind of late in the show and I'm not really sure how it makes me care about the cast anymore. All it does is make a few things not seem as contradictory with the cast anymore.

3/5 because it was by comparison better handled over all than any other episode in the series really.

There's something bothering me about this episode. It's clear that Mirai decided to act according to the last of Izumi's advices, but the way it's put, let it seem that Mirai is tricked by Izumi. Like it's not possible to absorb the Kyoukai no Kanata.

Anyway, that poor Mirai makes me so sad, always sacrificing and suffering for the people she loves. At least this time she decided not to kill but to get killed. It's probably a relief for her.

Not, actually it is possible, the Naze clan wants Mirai's clan dead, and Izumi's plan was a smart way to get rid of Mirai and get the control of the KnK, even worse, since Aki is okay and Mirai was an outcast, what she has done will not receive retaliation from the Society

Oh yeah, for those who likes the little details this series have, here is a comparison of the two times Akihito woke up: http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/341/8/0/ep10_by_artesox-d6x1ju7.gif

I am really impressed! This is the best episode I have seen so far. They put up a nice twist being her the one seem to be death. I really love the transition when they do the recap, especially the one when she turn her head side way at around 17:00. Actually, they really make it so that even the op and ed fits in within the anime. Really love it!

It's actually bittersweet when you think about it.

Mirai was ordered to kill from the very beginning. But after she gets to know him, she starts to understand him (and she's probably the only one that does) and she starts developing feelings for him. The only girl who understands him and girl he likes, has been observing him and planning to kill him. In the end she kind of does and disappears to kill the Kyokai no Kanata... Hmm.

Had some major feels in this episode. Love the plot twist they added! :3

This episode has so much feels. >__< The part wherein Mirai disappears in front of Akihito~ Amazing plot twist anyway. Izumi-neesan, I think I hated you already. T__T In the winter scene, is that the black glasses that we saw on the "megane magazine"? The one that Akkey wanted to give to Mirai on her birthday?

Mmm, it's getting really interresting. I didn't though that it was all Izumi plan and that she met her before their encounter. Now that it's explained, it all make sense.

So if I understood, Mirai absorbed is youmu part and she must be now half-youmu herself right? And the Akihito she was dragging in that winter world is like the youmu part of Akihito? So now I guess he is no longer immortal. I also think that Izumi isn't the mastermind behind all this, she must be following the order of the guy we don't see.

Mirai has a plan to kill from the first time and Izumi make a plot for it.

But why the Association want the Kyokai no Kanata and Hollow youmu...
If Akki has 'kyokai no kanata' so his father is also a kyokai no kanata?

Honestly, this is my interpretation of what happened:
Because of Aki being half-youmu allowed him to be a perfect vessel for KnK.
However, as Mirai forced it out of him with her blood, it had to possess her.
Her body couldn't take it and she was sent into it's world. (Similar to The Hollow Shadow incident)
And, like the Hollow Shadow, she can't get out unless she defeats it.
Aki will most likely find some way to go in and help her.
Meanwhile, I'm pretty sure Hiromi is going to confront Izumi.

Something doesn't fit. The entirety of the Nase family can't kill Akihito, yet Mirai can? Also, if Izumi really wanted Akihito dead, why did she even bother for him to wake with his youmu half. She can probably kill him right there when his human half is frozen and his youmu half trying to take control. And also, she knew Akihito since he was a kid, it's unlikely that she doesn't have any feelings for him, even if it's just friends. So my theory is that Izumi sent Mirai because she believed that only Mirai can kill Beyond the Boundary without killing Akihito with her cursed blood power.

Yup.

I also think Aki's half-youmu ISN'T KnK. They explained somewhere earlier that a strong youmu attracted KnK. Thus, Aki being an extremely powerful being because he's half-youmu, he was the perfect vessel for a small part of KnK (I see it like the door of hell being opened which had to be closed by Mirai), and not the whole KnK (which has no physical body and is probably the big ball we see at the end of the episode (like the core).

So that's why I don't think Akihito is no longer immortal or has lost his half-youmu powers (as some people seem to be afraid of that). In fact, I think he's STILL a half-youmu, it's just that the calm has made him weaker and that's why he didn't regenerated as fast as before. Hopefully, I didn't get that wrong cause to me, it doesn't make much sense for him to ''not really be a half-youmu in the end'' since the other half would have been erased if it was only KnK (and it would be hard to explained who his father would be indeed). I think it's more like his youmu-half was ''possessed'' by a part of KnK.

As for Mirai, obviously she's alive but pretty far gone into the realm of KnK.
Yes, she's probably going to be saved by Aki, but don't forget the guy from the Spirit World Warriors has the Hollow Shadow stone and that Izumi is not done with getting KnK. It's pretty much a race for who gets the atomic bomb first, youmu version.

Hopefully, more Mitsuki and Hiroomi too, I like them both :].

I think that Winter World Mirai is just like Summer World Mirai, a representation of her inside someone's mind because of her blood, but instead of just having a little of her blood inside it, like Akihito, the KnK youmu has "absorbed" all of her body, thus creating a Mirai inside him powerful enough to actually kill him. Real Mirai on my opinion is gone.

Winter World is in the Kyoukai no Kanata, Mirai is in the KnK with dead Akihito
Summer World is in the dream of Akihito
The real world is when Akihito woke up and saw Mirai's Glasses on the chair

Amazing twist, it was done very well. Izumi asked Mirai to kill the KnK but Mirai can't do it, so Mirai take over the KnK instead.
That explained all of the plot holes.

Can't wait to see what will happen next. Black World is next, this is interesting

I laughed of the conversation between Akihito and Hiroomi,
- Hey, pervert!
- What is it, pervert?

And Mitsuki is so fucking hot

I thought it was weird that Mirai had black glasses - it makes sense that's the "dream" world's version. I was so confused at the start but the episode explained everything quite nicely. Looks like Mirai is stuck inside the body of the youmu that was once inside Akihito or something like that?

Really enjoyed this episode, but I feel like they should have made it longer to better develop the characters and their relations, especially the relationship between Mirai and Akihito. Hope the upcoming episodes explain some of my unanswered questions like how Beyond the Boundary found its way into Akihito.

I honestly feel like the whole series should have been longer. At least two seasons worth. I love the animation, and the story is pretty grand and visionary, but if they simply gave more time for all these events to take place, it would have been such a fantastic series
That isn't to say I don't like it. I'm enjoying it quite a bit, but they really missed out on what could have been the best series of the past few years

I feel as though this episode was written in order to make up for the bullshit KyoAni pulled in the first couple of episodes. People say that after the beginning they veered off the original light novel after the stupidly obvious filler episodes, and if this is true, then that means that either KyoAni sucks at adapting or the original light novel really was that bad. On the other hand, that also means KyoAni can make really good original content even if they decide to shoehorn their shitty humor into their show.

I really liked this episode of Beyond the Boundary. It's probably the best one so far. If it is indeed original content as people say, then props to KyoAni for doing it. I still don't like the first few episodes, but clearly they stepped their game up from then.
