| I think it's a backstory, because Miss Monochrome already blew away those invading aliens in episode 3 or 4 ... which now all makes sense :P So our kawaii Vocaloid is millions of years old, and was a super idol with a rival who's been reincarnated in the present. Not going to question why there were humans millions of years in the past ... maybe the aliens vaporized all of them so there were no fossil records. Shit just got deep for a 4 minute anime. :P And yay dat ED. I can't wait till they release that single. |

Edit: All you confused people on page 1, please read this post... I guess we're finding out about Monochrome's past. Episode 9 ends with the scene Episode 1 started with. It seems that Monochrome and Kikuko were competing idols in the past. At that time, human civilisation was mostly wiped out by aliens. Kikuko died in this event, and Monochrome lost her memory when her battery ran out. Kikuko has since been reincarnated, and Monochrome has expressed her desire to become a super idol alongside Kikuko after seeing her on TV (seemingly still unaware of their past). Interesting to note that Monochrome annihilated the same aliens this time round (in Episode 3) without even realising it. This explains why Episode 3 was titled Vengeance. Another interesting point is that it appears that humanity may not yet have regained the level of advanced technology that Monochrome was built with, which may explain why we haven't seen any other androids in the anime yet, and why so few people seem aware of the fact that she's an android. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ MEanimaniac1 said: Yup ;)That 45 second death scene was pretty touching, more touching than all 12 episodes of School Days. | So...biggest twist of the season: this episode, or Samurai Flamenco episode 7? Someone mentioned Gen Urobuchi in this thread; seriously, with all that Miss Monochrome's been through, are we sure he's not writing?! This show can get downright depressing at times. |
| Don't really understand why people are so shocked at what they saw. This episode links back to ep.1 and explained what happened before Ms Monochrome lost everything to the swindler staff, right? Don't really see it as such a big twist. The one surprise is that the aliens we saw a few episodes ago (which Ms Monochrome destroyed while they were still in space) is also linked up as well. Got to give my kudos for the screenplay writer for connecting all these episodes together. |

Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |
| Never expected the plot twist. I want to watch episode 3 again to see those aliens get annihilated. The ending is catchy, but I'm also interested in Kikuko's song since episode 1. |

It also used the quite popular theory that human civilization used to be quite advanced before their sudden extinctions and finally back to the prehistoric times. funny part : the peasants owned a battery lmao |
