The music was fantastic, while I still wish there was some Inner Light, I can't complain with the music at all. It was spot on! The animation is a step up this time as well. That Heartbreak Shot was awesome too, I'd been waiting all episode for it. The tension is going to kill me over the next week though. Fack. I think that Heartbreak may have outdone the Dempsey Rolls for me :( |

| Alright, now that I've cooled off from that ferocious cliffhanger - I don't think Date should win this round. I say this as a fan of his character, and of all the development he's been given so far. Martinez is in his own league when it comes to boxing. Besides, the eventual Ippo vs Martinez will be amazing. |
| The tension in this episode really got to me ... and imho the music perfectly supported the overall events without getting too dominant. As to the point of time when the episode ends: Well, one part of me really wants to see how this fight continues ... right NOW! The other part of me however thinks the end of the episode was right on the spot ... the anticipation for the next episode will be killing me by the time we get it and honestly: That's what I want. :) |

My prediction before this match started was that Date was going to lose...and possibly die from this match, which could lead to amazing development in Ippo's character, but who knows. I haven't read the manga or anything (been on my plan to do list for awhile), but so far, that scenario still has the ability to play out. At the end, it looked liked Ricardo blocked the heartbreak shot, but who knows. Will look forward to next week and a possible conclusion? |

this is a tense, high level fight. And Date looked good in the beginning, but he's being slaughtered now. You can see the fight slipping out of his reach, but if the Heartbreak Shot hits then it's all even. |

It has a good mix of intense and emotional music. That one clarinet one is awesome. Great fight though! I'm glad Date is struggling this much, would have felt cheap if he just dominated. Sides I figure this is trying to establish Ricardo as the main opponent so I would be surprised if Date came back... |

| for some reason i felt there was too much talking. i do not like the director of this series. but in second thought, maybe because it's isn't ippo's battle i don't seem to like the action so much lol. never the less, now we have real cliffhanger. |
