Last Tokyo Ravens volume got 18k sales from 7 days. It didn't rank in its second week
This one gets 11k from 3 days.

Accel World vol 15 seems to be vastly outselling volume 14, which only reached 102.7k sales before dropping out. Mahouka is still 16k off its final sales for the most recent volume.

Strike the Blood sales for earlier volumes:
vol 6 28150
vol 7 27258
vol 8 25543
So vol 9 getting 37150 is a nice boost. It's possible that it will rank again next week, though not all that likely. Of course, volume 1 is still ranking as well. I wonder if any of the others will reappear.

Golden Time's sales has passed those of volume 6, though that's at least partly due to luck - looking at where it ranked this week.

And in the manga charts, SnK's days of dominance seem to finally be over.

At least the manga has started... Tenryuu !!!
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Good to see Magi and Jojo so high up in the rankings right now. Though seeing Shingeki no Kyojin with ranks 40 and 42 worries me a tiny bit, considering the popularity the anime got. Well whatever, one truth always prevails in the end I guess.
Also it's great seeing Gin no Saji with such high sales, I should give it a read.

Really? Fairy Tail has always maintained a 250-350k sales range for the first week for years now. Plus volume 40 has only been out for 3 days in this weeks sales rank. Did I miss a really big year in terms of sales???

Once Nanatsu gets its anime break, it would likely overtake Fairy Tail. The guy deserved it, he has a better sense of humour and talent in drawing large-scaled, detailed battle scenes.

Again! hanging around in the mid 30s thousand once more. Gisèle Alain has very similar character designs to Kaoru Mori's ones. Sure hope it enjoys the same sales results if it's good too.

The stats is done on series basis and the series of JoJo does not differentiate between shounen and seinen - the volume count is continuous.

Hmm, i see no Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio on the list. It seems like another case of anime adaptation doesn't boost it source material significantly.

And honestly i don't get at all the overhype surrounding Kantai Collection. seriously, people everywhere seem to talk about it very often (tumblr, 4ch, Mania). The last time i checked on Mania Game thread, it doesn't seem any different than your usual MMORPG. What makes it so special then? Cute girls?

Did a new volume come out just last week? Otherwise what you said does not really make sense. Without a new volume, only a super popular series (like Shingeki) would boost sales so much that the sale of an old volume could even beat the multitude of new volumes being published in the week to make to the chart (which as I said before, even the #50 can be considered very successful because of the intense competition)

Did you read the Kantai Collection news thread I made earlier?? The funny thing is that the game is more like personal browser game than a MMORPG (interaction with other players mostly come in the form of combat rehearsal not the actual battle/quest itself). Anyway I wrote a few posts in that thread in an attempt to explain its appeal from contents' point of view:
http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=668025

Of course the game is also helped A LOT by what fans take as a genuine free-to-play model (in fact Kadokawa effectively admitted that it loses money in running the game but hopes to recoup the cost and make profit by selling things related to the franchise):

Because enough people keep buying them long after we found it suck?? Found that out long before I grew out of the shounen demography range when I stopped reading Dragonball and City Hunter long before my manga buddies dropped them lol

The funny thing is that some fans in Japan joked that the first edition of the official book, with multiple misprints, may actually command premium price given the subsequent printing will fix the misprint problems LOL

What is eye-catching is Owarimonogatari selling >110k making it the bestselling book of ALL GENRES (except manga) in Japan last week.

Also what the two results in the post did not say is the two guidebooks of KanColle still rank this week....

Yes and with that Kodansha Box edition costing 1500 yen a copy it is also 2-3x the cost of most LN bunko and manga editions so it represents a lot of money. The Monogatari Second Season anime sales may be down but the Final Edition novel sales are strong as ever.
