Still hoping TaigaxRyuuji would get ripped apart and a reverse plot twist and Ami or Minorin gets back into the picture. Well, i don't think its possible to break them apart, since episode 1 Ryuuji has been alwasy beside Taige and that make her felt wnated by someone aft years being alone...Thus, taiga see Ryuuji as special someone.... Ryuuji tooo seem to caring for taiga.... how couls you possibly break that strong bond,,,, BTW, I think minorin did have feelings for Ryuuji since its like hard for her to reject Ryuuji cause' in the end can see her hiding her face while rejecting Ryuuji (tying to avoid eye contact)... Anyway where can i read the manga version? I meant "break apart" as in remove the potential romantic intimate feelings. Ryuuji can easily hook up with either Ami or Minorin while still keeping Taiga close as a sister-type. |

NOOOO! I hoped for no-Taiga ending, but it's going to be the fact. Minorin made SELFOWN today. And why the hell Ami does not make a move? Only helps Ryuuji as older sister... |

Well, there are still 6 episodes for Taiga to die. There is still chance for better ending. And who said Taiga was sexy? Crap, I've just completed CG R2 and character design in TD still makes me puke. |

Seriously, why doesn't she make a move. Well I think she kinda does, but Ryuuji doesn't listen to her. Damn I wanted a an Ami ending. But here I am making it seem like he had already chosen Taiga. There's still 6 eps left of Ami not trying I guess. Weird Episode, it's February and I just couldn't get into the Christmas spirit. But still enjoyed it. 5/5. I liked the scene of Taiga's crying, though I too hoped for a no-Taiga ending. |

Minori is a very vivid and comical character across the most part of the show and you can't easily remove her without affecting the general impression Toradora leaves on you. Moreover Minori is required to let us learn some important things in life: 1) how disturbed and depressed can an always smiling and cheering airhead feel deep inside 2) let us realize our blindness once we get a crush on someone. Minori exists in Toradora to let Ryuuji and Taiga understand the difference between their true feelings of love and feeling of getting a crush on somebody. Obviously you disagree and I can’t bring myself to agree with you. I don’t see Minorin as a vivid or comical character and I don’t seem to be the only one. Her supposed “comedy” is more annoying and weird than really comedic. She’s definitely no Haruhi Suzumiya, who had sense to her madness. I can completely remove her from the story because she does nothing for me when it comes to the show. She’s easily removable. I think I would have preferred that Ryuuji had a crush on Kihara, who I actually liked or even Ami as his crush. They have character….Actually I can honestly tell you Ami’s character would have carried the angst of the relationship far better if she replaced Minorin and making Minorin Ami’s role----as in third girl. But keep the characters the same. This is what I’m saying. I’m more into and connected I find with Ami. If Ami was removed…the show would really have a different impression on me. Minorin is whatever. 1) She’s two face…without any purpose and I just don’t wonder those questions when I see her. 2) What? I don’t see that AT ALL. Minorin doesn’t exist in that role because I found that it was Ami who was verbally stating the difference between crushes and romantic feelings. NOT Minorin. It was Ami was really delivering some crazy sound advice even if I disagreed at times with her on what is going on. That was far from Minorin. even though i think your idea of ami beeing takasu-kun's love interest is pretty cool i wouldn't want to miss minorin. especially not in the first half of the show where she made me laugh quite often. For me she was a great character to make the viewers get into the show. Ok, now she's more like a party pooper but that actually helps making the show more serious right? Anyway: there are 6 episodes left (somebody said the show could end right here: NO FUCKING WAY) - enough space to get something else going. that's what i hope at least. I mean... Ami is still at the party in the school right? Takasu-kun fainted in front of the school right?? Maybe Ami gets a chance to cheer him up??? Chance! Might be just me dreaming though >_> I'm sooo looking forward to the next episode... PS:Taiga with teddy bear and crying was pretty amazing PPS: I didn't like the christmas song PPPS: I like Ami and Taiga with normal hair and without lipstick more |

What an episode. It may be February, but I that Christmas song is catchy. I wouldn't mind it playing for the last 6 more episodes. I definitely like it better then the ending theme we had before. I was expecting the whole Taiga and Ryuuji pairing to be handled in a worse way, but everything was handled well. I even felt really sad to see Taiga crying like that. With Ryuuji being rejected like that, I guess Taiga is going to reject Kitamura now. With 6 episodes left, it seems almost anything could happen with all the characters. I hope everything ends in a good postie way. |

I love special song episode! It's still stuck in my head. It's to be expected that someone WILL be hurt in any love polygon stories. I think Toradora express it nicely, at least very unique, how these teenagers go through the events. Again I'm surprised how things turn out, although it's going to the initial anticipation: Taiga and Ryuuji as couple. I thought Minori was about to accept Taiga's kindness but she saw poor Taiga in front of her apartment. I mean, after all these times, how come Taiga still don't have a feeling for Ryuuji? Even the ferocious Te Nori Taiga can be deredere/lovestruck when you least expect it. Our main character IS a tsunderekko after all. Minori is much love, but I don't see her the type that's going out with a guy honestly. She's more of your sister figure who take care of friends, being looked up by her classmates, good at sports, etc. When she decided to reject Ryuuji, it's for everyone's sake including herself. The next episode preview is what seems to be our traditional happy-go-round Toradora. Angst be gone. Much looking forward to it! |

Awww, Taiga is so cute on that dress *_________* Awww, Taiga and Ami's song was so cute ::: D Kitamura was little perv but still funny. I have to admit that it was little weird to watch Christmas episode in February, but the song was nice and whole episode too. And I laughed so hard when Ryuuji was knocking to Taiga's window XDDD And it was so cute that Taiga started to cry for Ryuuji, finally some Ryuuji x Taiga time. It's little sad that there is going to be only six episodes :'''( It would be nice to have some OVA or special for this. // saa CHRISTMAS, ippai no egao / ippai no negai <3_______<3 So nice part. That song will be stuck on my head for a really long time. And it was nice to have special ending :--------) |

I have a friend who wants those "4chan" sites and I showed him that he loves pedo-bear the nutter. ^_^ He has this special pedo-bear t-shirt. After I showed him the clip he suddenly got into the anime <---And he was a die hard hater. He'll probably only say he liked the pedobear. PS:Taiga with teddy bear and crying was pretty amazing PPS: I didn't like the christmas song PPPS: I like Ami and Taiga with normal hair and without lipstick more As much as I have wished for Ami...I've given up on them too. I love Ami as well, definitely a fave who's on the ball and I'm glad she was in the show. However, at the same time I realize why they went, or are going, if they go the Taiga/Ryuuji route. Only because they've built up the strongest relationship on the show and Ami and Minorin's relationship with Ryuuji still needs work. I respect people who loved Minorin. I don't bash people who do since it's cool. People can like who they want. I just personally dislike the character due to major lack of development. I think most people assumed that when I was critical of the character in some way I was critical of them. Far from it. It's just I can't bring myself to like her because I think she's lacking. Now, by default it would imply that then something is wrong with the people who do like her even though she's not developed. That's not the case, considering there are people who find that she is nicely developed. She just doesn't meet my ceiling of what I consider developed. As for your first question. I don't see Minorin as making it more serious or angsty. To be honest I felt Kitamura and Ami were the kings of making things very serious. Angst wise we got that from Taiga and Ryuuji. She brings her own drama to the board and I won't deny that...however I just don't find them engaging but more frustrating. Do you mean is Ami still at the party towards the end and Ryuuji fainted in front of the school?! Yup and yup. She is, and I'm totally with you that I wouldn't mind her coming out and helping him up and caressing his hair and maybe a stolen kiss. Unlikely, but I'd totally support it. ^_^ PS. It was a good scene to watch although it made her look extra childish. I thought it was a very real moment which lead to even more realistic (as in humanistic) scenes from Taiga later on. PPS. I adore the X-mas song and plan on playing it at the next family X-mas event. Haitian people listening to Japanese...crazy (Wish my daddy was here). If he were here, I'd beg him to translate them for me so I could sing along the proper way no help from CG there. PPPS. Agreed. I also thought the black dress on Taiga was a bit dowdy although overall she looked lovely. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alrighty....Now here is my review with a couple of other things. Hmmm....I was all ready to lambast CoalGuys subbing here. I've had problems with them before but man, I pissed with an exponent when I couldn't understand what Taiga or Ryuuji was saying while they were talking at the same time, or understand the music in the beginning. As a note, I love fan subbers. I love fans who take the time out to do this kind of work. Shoot, I'm one of them (for dramas) and I donate like mad to my fave fansubbing teams. That being said, CoalGuys, even for taking the time out are definitely not that considerate when at least 5-10 minutes of each episode is unreadable. However, because they managed to pull off the X-mas theme song I gave them kudos and didn't turn this review into a massive rant. 4.5 by 5 I definitely like this episode. Now I will first off say a few things, this is the first time I'm seeing it subbed so many of my conclusions which I never really proposed here didn't come to fruition and a lot of things made sense. Anyway, I'll knock this off by character and make it easy. I haven't done this sort of review since I watched SGA and it's been a long time since I've watched that show. Of course I'm sure my review would not be welcomed there, but apparently it was a rave with the SGA fanatics...But that's neither here nor there. Plus I'm adding a dislclaimer...which I also haven't done since SGA: The spoiler below is a long review. Don't read it if you can't handle more than 5 lines. It is not recommended since it is a detailed review of my impressions. For those who may be wondering why I give such long reviews and take things seriously. I come from a scifi sect of people that do that. I have gotten into paged review battles----meaning we've written at least 3-5 page reviews on one tv show episode. It's acceptable in my group and I haven't changed since a lot of the people publish theirs in scifi mags (I do not)...but those are the people I associate with. When you see my long reviews...just see it as that and move on if it's bothersome. I love Ami. I have said it before and I'll say it again, I love Ami, I love Sumire, I love Haruta-chan, and I love Ryuuji. I love these blood-haired cats cause they keep it real. Ami was bloody fantastic. I mean amazing and she looked great. I have also said in the past that to me Ryuuji could take Taiga or Ami and I would be ecstatic...even though I find Ami might be in love with him as she thinks and I do think he has a deeper relationship with Taiga. But Ami is something else as a character. If only she was the female Ryuuji had a crush on the dynamic would be so different and probably would capture my attention more. Ah well, she was great. I didn't agree about the 'daddy' thing she said about Ryuuji before and I don't agree now. But I do think that Ryuuji should have paid more attention to what she was saying and for a moment there I felt he lost his way and it was Ami's words that got him back on track. Meaning, I think he was moving a little away from Taiga and focusing his attention on getting Minorin Not that this affected Taiga negatively but that it was Ami's words that reminded him of her. It was a good scene and I felt bad she was all alone at the end of the night. She looked lovely and had a beautiful voice. Kitamura...man what a crazy fool. I always wondered why guys dress like that for X-mas, I had a friend who dressed like that on X-mas, it was the oddest thing. Nothing much more than that. I've noticed after making Kitamura move from fly on the wall to bee buzzing in one's ear, he's back to being a fly on the wall. It's a bit disappointing because I liked what the writers gave me of Kitamura. Ryuuji...as I've said before and I'll say it again...I'd do him with the red shirt and the gel. The man was uber sexy...and give him a baseball bat and he'd give all my Korean gangsters a run for their money. Nice look. Not to mention I found his personality fantastic. To go as far as to dress up to make your friend that happy on Christmas...shoot if I wasn't in love with Ryuuji before, I would utterly fall head over heels in love after this. This would show how much I mean to him, it would show the extent he would go to make sure I'm happy. Seriously, I don't see how any woman or man ( ^_^ ) would not appreciate these sort of actions. If for some this was a bit surprising and unlikely for Taiga to have those feelings...after what Ryuuji did and went through for her, I can't blame the girl. However, he is still a glutton for punishment. In this area I do agree with soulelle the rejection was plain to see and he was most definitely finally aware of it. Even though I find that Minorin has been rejecting him over and over again for the past couple of episodes. Taiga...well that was something. Now, I have to say I was never in-love or even that much of a fan of Taiga's. It wasn't to the extent of my dislike for her like Minorin, because Taiga has been fully developed. I just wasn't into the tsundere character, and I also disliked Shana. They do nothing for me and although I found her utterly cute at times, on more than one occasion she annoyed me. Whichi s unlike Ami who never did that. That being said, after the beach house I started slowly falling love with Taiga; while simultaneously disliking Minorin more and more. I felt that these last eps made her a great character and this ep was just the icing on the cake. She was sweet, endearing, and doing what she can for a friend. I also liked the moment of realization. I think for many people who've been in love with your best bud... can definitely understand. You're not in love with him/her or at least you think you're not. Then when you realize there's a chance you might lose him/her it hits hard and you can't imagine your life without them there. It was cool to see when that epiphany came because obviously she couldn't handle it. It was good to see Taiga break down and appear far more human than tsundere. My favorite scene or moment was when she was running out of the house and almost trips...classic. Minorin...and this is another peace to soulelle posts...she definitely came through a bit here. I will say Minorin's character was never a fave of mine. I didn't find her funny in the beginning and her drama in the second half feels a bit contrived considering I feel as though I don't know the character. That being said, I still think she is not right as her role for the crush of Ryuujis. I find that she is extremely bipolar and I'll go as far as to say possibly has split-personalities. This is not in a bad way because they were giving this role entirely to Ami in the beginning and everyone saw that. However, I feel that Minorin definitely fits that title far more than Ami ever did. Did I understand her in the end...yes I understood that her UFOs and ghosts the unbelievable or fantastical was in reach and could be seen as synonymous to Ryuuji's affection is something she'd rather reject for her friend. So she's become more of a "rational" thinker. To believe in Ryuuji's affections and accept them she would then also be giving into dreams and fantasies and probably always thought those were unattainable until him. However, now she's going to reject them in order to give them to her friend instead. Fine. However, the character is still overall an anomaly for me even though I understand her thinking in this instance doesn't mean she's been understandable throughout since most people have been living on speculation for the character. At least the rejection is final and I won't be bothered with her drama any more. I do feel the writers could have done a great job on her but failed enormously. All in all great ep and I liked it a great deal. |

WTFwasThat said: Ami seems pissed, Taiga realizes her true feelings for a fatherly Ryuuji lol, and Minorin sacrifices everything to look like an ass. Liked the part where Taiga was all creeped out at first when seeing pedobear. I guess I was slow on the uptake, but maybe Taigi does have an Electra Complex. Ami points it out, Ryuuji wears her dad's suit... And all this pedobear talk. Imagine if it wasn't Ryuuji in the suit. AkariChan said: Somewhat, the plots are expected :3 Akari Chan, can I have this pic in higher resolution for a background? This was a very amazing episode as far as the series plays out, and a most interesting route to take it. Though it is cliche, this route probably is the quickest for development and keeping with the short arts(2-3 episodes a peice, if I'm counting). Suzuka did the opposite of this series, what most of you guys wanted that love traingle date-first-then-realize-feelings thing. It ended up being a 5 episode arc in order to get to the point that took TD 3 episodes. That, and it reallly didn't detract from the obvious, that Yamato, the main guy, liked Suzuaka, main girl character. Anyways, Taiga was just cute throughout, and I so just wanted to give her a hug(or a cookie) after she started crying! It's about time though that she wised up! Now if Ryuji would get a clue(though I believe he's starting to, as he was kinda indecisive for a second there). |

I loved this episode, finally Taiga realises her feelings for Ryuji. Now Ryuj needs to realise that Minorin was just a fantasy and he never really liked her, just her energy and optimisim. I think Ryuj loved Taiga long before Taiga love him, almost from the very beginning, he's just able to understand that his feelings of protectiveness and friendship come from love, not the daddy syndrome, as Ami was trying to say. |

One word: Pedobear! Ahem...and I thought RyuujixMinorin was finally developing. It's a shame that RyuujixTaiga is almost inevitable now. This episode was funny, cute, and sweet, yet so sad. The only bad thing I can think of is that the final is pretty obvious now, if it wasn't already. On a side note, I'll love this show if they can bring Ryuuji and Ami together through a plot-twist. |

Good episode, but it way too early for this kind of episode if it really is going to be RyuujixTaiga. If this was the second or third to last episode then I would have said it was a lock, however, with six episodes left I'm still not sure at all. RyuujixTaiga is not convincing to me at all. I expect a last ditch effort Ami blitzkrieg and more Minorin emo-ness to come. |

I think Taiga is too proud to confess! And she is also a klutz when it comes to love -- So it's finally 'Ryuuji's' arc and who he really develops feelings for !! Eh?! How did you read that Taiga rejected him after he was trying to confess? Can you break that down? She ran after him for on easy reason. Taiga realized HER feelings for Ryuuji and wanted to confess. She's not shy about confessing and she wanted Ryuuji to herself. But there was no way Ryuuji was going to confess to her, he was going to stay with her but not confess from what I could see and Taiga definitely did not reject him. He had Minorin on the mind from the beginning of the ep until Ami reminded him of Taiga's issues and he ran after her. But you don't go from having a gift for Minorin and wearing a bear costume at the school waiting for another woman if he was going to confess to Minorin. Which I think he's done more than once. Taiga is too proud to confess?! Are you kidding? Go back to the Beach house ep, I believe ep 10 and she almost confessed then to him. She clearly said she felt the dream about her being the mother of his dogs to be foreshadowing . Why would she be too proud to confess? She is a klutz when it comes to a crush. When it comes to Ryuuji she's fairly clear. Go back to the ep where he was hurt in the pool competition episode. She's far from a klutz considering it was her who saved him. I thought the entire story was around Ryuuji since he's the main. I find that if he needed an arc and was getting one he had one when it came to Taiga's dad story because all that was dominated by Ryuuji. AS for his feelings...I find he has developed a crush on Minorin but will probably end up with Taiga but so far there's nothing to suggest his romantic feelings for Taiga but there is no denying he cares greatly for Taiga and is emotionally connected to her distress and will do what it takes to make her happy. Yet, he hasn't realized that as love though. |

AkariChan said: An awesome idea! =) This episode was really beautiful. I suppose all 5 of them will stay friends in the end, no pairings. Though I wish Taiga and Ryuji were together in the end, because their story somehow reminds my own story. I was also relying on a man considering him just a friend, and now we're in love ^___^ |

This episode seriously made me want to cry manly tears, but my manlyness took over and kept myself from being a raging faggot.. Really good episode. Kinda rage worthy though. |

vaberella said: something really long >: I just meant that when Taiga 'rejected' him, is because she forced minorin on him!! Making him leave her house so he could confess!! It seems like he wanted to stay, but she kicked him out !! I take her running after him as a sign of 'regret' meaning, she didn't want him to leave but forced him anyways -- ! Love is a tricky thing, I feel like if I liked somebody (well, started too!), but they told me that I should go after somebody else that it's somewhat of a rejection, yeah? I feel like being a 'mother' and being a 'wife' is very different, kind of like the metaphore of Ryuuji being a 'father' and not a 'husband' -- The klutz thing is based of what she stated, I'm just quoting Taiga >: I think the whole plot so far was about the three girls -- Just my adaptation though!! I think that while we know the feelings of all of the three girls (who all like Ryuuji) we really don't know who Ryuuji likes!! (Besides Minorin (1st episode) -- and kind of Taiga..but that was only in the past 3 episodes) It seems everyone developed more character-wise than Ryuuji -- he's still the same as before. That's all I meant >: |

Okay, I just had to post to say... What is with the people who are so against RyuujixTaiga? It makes no sense to me. It's the most obvious pairing because it's the most realistic pairing, and to do something else just for the sake of doing something else (and no other reason besides, as far as I can tell) is not going to do the show any favors. Now, that aside, this was a beautiful episode. The party, Taiga's joy at seeing santa, her subconscious realization of what exactly she had done, Ryuuji's fainting... all wonderfully executed. I nearly cried when Taiga's tears began dropping. Even better is the fact that there's still five or six more episodes to go, so things aren't so clear-cut just yet. Really looking forward to more. |

I think Ryuuji just did the dramatic fall backwards, that I see in a lot of anime -- but everyone thinks he fainted? I guess we'll have to wait and see!! But I agree, the whole anime was about RyuujixTaiga (I mean, ToraxDora) but it was sooo good that it lead us to stray otherwise! |

I think Ami looked the best in this episode, Taiga was a close second. Ryuuji looked like Kitano from Angel Densetsu in his suit. Kinda saw this coming for awhile, but sad to see Minorin have to sacrifice her own heart. Although, plenty of show left so who knows what they'll throw our way... |

I had to pause and laugh when they started singing. It's the first time this show has done anything so stupid that I had to do that. EDIT: Finished the episode; I guess I saw that coming, but it ended up making things a lot more complicated. |

Lulu-san said: Antanaru said: Well, there are still 6 episodes for Taiga to die. There is still chance for better ending. And who said Taiga was sexy? Crap, I've just completed CG R2 and character design in TD still makes me puke. A troll will be always a troll. Just because someone have a different opinion than the most, or most likely to say, than YOU, it doesn't make him/her a troll... saying that you just made a so called "troll" of yourself. Congrats. And so to not make it an offtop: I didn't like that episode, too. The part with the singing was totaly out of the picture, just like entire 13th episode. And those gross haircuts... But, of course, the most horrifing was the episode's final... man, really, either they are slowly telling us to don't have high hopes, or want to make a huge surprise in the end. Let's hope for the latter. |
