I know this is a anime orientated site, but I was wondering if there were any other musicians on this site? I do electronic music at the moment but I am just about to start composing my own guitar based music (acoustic and electric).Anyone else out there with any material worth sharing?

I will give it a look. I don't really have a genre as such (although I am working on my first drum and bass song at the moment).

I might as well put my bollocks on the line and put my info out there as well: www.soundcloud,com/Voss_Ausviss

I make a really lot of music (composed around 1000).
Few psuedo-symphonical/classical/guitar tracks can be found here.
https://www.youtube.com/user/sokouovski
But those are kinda old and lame. (2006-2010 mostly)
I'm about making new channel with actual music pieces.

I also write a lot of metal music for my bands/personal projects and, nowadays, I produce some background electronic tracks, which are used in some short internet movies.

And during this summer I make anime covers -> link below.

Wow, nice to see some musical talent on this site. I have to admit, I just started making music on the sequencer about a year and a half ago. I am in the process of moving from Reason to Logic. I am also moving towards guitar music as soon as I am confident enough to post my own stuff. Btw, everyone who posted their Soundcloud I have followed, just so I can keep in touch with what is going on.

We should all try collab, make a MAL mixtape or something.

Where do you get your drum samples from? The ones I hear in Summer Dreams?

Did you also play the guitar yourself or was it sampled?

Yeah. Been using it since 2007, if I remember correctly. Though I do remember that it was FLS 6 I started with.
However, I am thinking about trying Logic Pro, now when I've got a MacBook. But it's hard to let go of old habits.

Yeah, I was thinking about switching to Pro Tools, one look at it then boom...

Fuck that, haha!

Takes time getting used to although I heard Logic was pretty easy to use though... or was that Ableton? Hmmm.

The UI is very similar to FL Studios. I don't think it is too different from FL Studio. I've been thinking of downloading a cracked version just to try it a few times and then buy it if it's any good.
It's pretty annoying having to use BootCamp every god damn time I want to produce some and then switch back to OS X if I there's something I want to do on that side. Why can't there be a version for OS X? :(

I use a lot of programs MacBook handles better than a regular PC. Photoshop, PixelMator, Illustrator and Coda, for example. And because OS X is so much better then Windows. OS X is built from Unix which makes it more stable than Windows (which we all know have a tendency to crash a lot).
And the design for MacBook is sweet! c(-:

I have some professional producers in my FB friendlist and some shared some drum samples and I made the kits myself.
The guitar was played by a friend of mine.

Collab sounds nice. I am actually switching from Reason to Logic soon. I have been experimenting with choir polyphony a lot recently, hopefully I will have Solitude in B minor up soon.

If we were to do a collab, what type of genre would we do? I have yet to settle or compose in a specific genre so the experience would be nice.

I write some original songs on the piano and such, but nothing serious.

I used to have FL studios a while back! Or a demo version. Made a few songs that I put onto my itunes lol. But again, it never amounted to anything.

Fuck genres, everyone is doing what he wants to do/feels like to do.
e.g. I could never make a Minimal or House song, because I don't really listen to the genre or specifically like it.

Yeeeaah. It's much, much better if a collab is between people who are involved in the same genre.
And as said, I produce progressive house music, which is towards AVICII's music-style.

I have however played piano since I were 8, gone to music school, played a lot of other instruments, etc. So I would be open for a collab within any kind of genre, but I don't think it will happen.

Maybe a Midi file to start with considering the amount of people using different softwhere? As for genre, I sort of have to agree with Fexell. I could pass out one of my many open ended projects as a midi file and see where that goes?

Sweet, Midi it is! So are we gonna have our own sections? Or just mesh into one.

Maybe we could snag an anime theme midi? Might turn into a mixtape! OMG!

After I finish my film score for class I may consider sending out some modified midi files form the project. B minor choir arrangement with simple polyphony. Might be a decent start. Besides, you can do so much with midi it not even funny.

So far, the midi sounds like this with a hefty amount verb and some added synths.

https://soundcloud.com/voss_ausviss/solitude-in-b-minor-teaser

I wont lie, I am pretty protective of this song as it is, and I still have a lot to flesh out (sounds are not as great as I would want them to be, and I only have 8 bars of a score when I should be working with 16 or so.

OR, someone with a little more confidence and experience could share some of their own midi and see where that goes.

Since there are so many types of genres that people are into I think having a mix tape would be great with files being open to anyone who wants to add it it. As for me, I don't mind adding to any type of genre or song.

I say we do a vote. All for making a mix tape collabe say yea or nay.
