| Well, this answer may be way too late, but yup, afaik, it's the story of the first game made into an anime. The short-OVA's about an arc that gets explained a bit later in the games, but it also contains a character introduction, I guess. Haven't seen the OVA yet myself, but I doubt that you'll need any background information to watch either the first or the second. |
| The OVA is an adaption, that starts at the beginning. So no, you wouldn't need any "prior knowledge" to understand it. However, the OVA is complete shit compared to the manga. So I'd recommend you just skip it all together. Or maybe watch it for the sole purpose of making the manga seem better for you in comparison. |
