Oo, I like this new dude this episode and he happens to be Hachiken's bro huh?

That's a cute little calf this episode too. I'm still loving this series. The slice of life feel with the agriculture theme makes it enjoyable for me to watch :3. Oh nice to see the twins again as well. They are kawaiii.

I'm also hungry for some corns.

Maybe it was just me but the second half of the episode felt extremely fast. I didnt even realize at first that Yuugo's brother had left the farm and returned a second time when the Komaba twins gave everyone corn. Yuugo's development here didn't pull me in as much something like the Pizza or Deer cleaning

Are the Hachikens the new poster child for a dysfunctional family? Dad sounds like a huge tool from the off remarks we've heard from Yuugo's brother

The Hachikens seem like it could easily be the poster child for dysfunctional family.

Yeah I know right, mostly because of their father's expectations for them though :(

Shingo, as impulsive as ever, doing whatever he wants. And I feel for Hachiken, having an older brother who says that Tokyo University is nothing if he himself could get in. What a blow. Hachiken's mistake with the pipe is something anyone could relate to, when you make a huge mistake and you keep feeling absolutely terrible about it. In his case, it's even worse because he got paid and he'd rather not be to pay back for his mistake, but it was quite touching how Mikage's family said it was how much they thought his work was worth, and no one blamed him ;__; especially when he comes from a strict family, he must not be used to such kindness. I shed a few tears at the end.

Aside from that, I love Hachiken's exaggerated reactions to everything haha. He's hilarious. It's also nice to learn that corn tastes sweeter when you first pick it, no wonder I always thought the corn from my grandfather's farm always taste the best.

Loved this ep. Shingo is awesome. How he gathered the herd with the bike but his coolness didn't last sliding in shit XD

The way he told his dad that he dropped out of Uni just to annoy him was so lol

Lol'd at the breast jokes at the beginning XD And Aki's father XD

Then the dream was lol.

Shingo getting fired on the first day of the job hahahaha.

Hachiken's reaction to the corn XD

And finally Dem words of wisdom from Great Grandma T^T

Oh looks like the cows got loose in town, must be a tough job. Huh Aki's dad giving tough jobs to Yugo, well at least he did all of them. Yugo's brother was introduced in this episode, he seems like a chill guy. A little accident on the milk part but still felt guilty about it. The 2nd half is usually working on the farm and get's paid.

Great episode overall and great introduction to Shingo, Yugo's brother.

I totally agree. The only difference for me is that this episode made me shed a tear.
After messing up so badly, Hachiken is still appreciated and forgiven. That situation contrasts so sharply with how Hachiken's father is deeply disappointed in what his son had done. That contrast, the forgiveness that Hachiken had probably never felt before, was truly touching.

It's been a while since I've seen an anime with this much raw emotion woven in.

I nearly teared up a bit at the end too, I knew he'd refuse the money and I figured they would make him take it anyway, but the way it was done was really heartwarming and encouraging.

The sprinting outside and prostration after tasting the milk was hilarious, Hachiken's reactions never get old.

Same here!!! Q_Q Even the ramen too... and as usual I felt sorry for Hachiken accidentally spill the milk. Yeah, he forgot to put the hose that costs so high! 40,000 yen as in, I mean can we imagine how expensive it is?! :O

The old lady really talked some meaningful stuff...

Also, corn (maize) from Hokkaido (where the anime is located) is pretty famous too. You should try it if you go to Hokkaido someday.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Oh man, I could feel for Hachiken after that mistake he made, I guess we all had this moment when we made a huge mistakes at work and didn't know how to react after that. It's good Mikage's family isn't like his own family.

I was also wondering what was the purpose of that Grandma in the show, and she just dropped the best line of the whole anime.

Amazing episode! This is how Slice of Life and Coming of Age story should be done.
