| Was it dark when the anime was flashing. It has to be dark. Hurts man. Anyway, I guess we can't really say much about episode 1 without watching the rest of the show, so get on it people. If you really liked episode 1, try the manga. ITS AMAZING |

| I've read the manga and though about checking out the anime, although the manga art style is superior, the anime looks pretty good especially for the time it aired. Love being able to watch Guts (the main character) be a bad ass :) |

| Well that was a brutal fight, finally getting around to watching this show. I've seen bits and pieces of the manga so I doubt it will get a brutal as it but i could be wrong. |

| I like supernatural violence but this opening ep's kind of ridiculous and put me off the series before; after enjoying the film trilogy I'm going to give it another chance. Shame we won't get to see what happens after though. |

| I've read the first 12 volumes of the manga, but this was confusing. Everything was all jumbled up. The OP sounds like a lost Pixies gem, and the ED was pure Smashing Pumpkins circa 1995. Both are great. But that techno song in the middle of the battle sequence sounded really corny. All that said, I really liked it. Didn't love it (yet), but I want to keep watching. |

| Finally watching Berserk, i hope it lives up to the hype. I skipped the 1st ep because i saw a lot of people recommending to skip the 1st episode and watching it after you finish the show sense it takes place in the future. hope this isn't a bad idea lol EDIT: Yeah glad i skipped this episode it dropped some major spoilers/foreshadowing |

| I'm pretty insane by being like this but the only thing I don't like in berserk is the 'gore' the rest is okay. Nice to see the animation of a Manga which I'm reading atm. |

| @ziggy_Z It is not only an adaptation problem but an anime structure problem when it is adapted into something who doesn't make sense. Anyway, the manga was my first wish (but I usually don't buy unfinished products and I couldn't read the volumes: they were sealed). This serves only as a warm-up because I have enough of waiting and want to take a bite. |

| Pretty mediocre first episode, had some rather nice background art but the rest was forgettable to say the least. That much I saw it last night and it could perfectly pass as something I watched months ago. Guess you needa apply the rule of cool quite intensely with this stuff. |

| This episode had some of the worst writing for an adaptation that I've ever seen as well as some of the worst decisions I've ever seen for one too. Not to mention animation that ranges from meh to shit. The only thing I can praise this for is the background art and Forces. 2/10, will continue in case it becomes less shit. |
| Soo... how does he carry such a big sword. It is so very large. And why must it make the unsheathing sound effect when it is draw. I mean it is like a typical stock unsheathing sound like *sshiick*. With such a large sword, I would expect at least something such as *sssshiiicckkk*. |

| So i saw the movies, after being captivated by the story and the incredible characters, i started reading the manga on December 10th. After seventeen days i almost catch up to the manga (only 40 chapters left and since i'm loving it so much and feel the need to space it out a bit, taking into account the long hiatuses) i decided to give the anime a try and oh boy first episode is great. Was hoping to see more of The Black Swordsman adapted but i guess this is it. Awesome episode, looking forward to the Golden Age arc :D |

| That first episode turn me off so fast, i was paying no atention at all. I even think that i continued with the next one, week or so after that. I had no idea at that time that Berserk will become on top of my favorite animes.Just the idea of that broken frendship and world turning up upside dawn (for Guts) is so tragick that it makes you torn out a tear or tow. And the whole philosofic and plot in that anime is so deep that it meke you wonder and think for the life itself. This is my one and only anime with sore of ten in my entire list of animes. It deservs it. |
