So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?
I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?
I wonder how long people would put up with this.
As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.
QueenCythia said: Oh Mondaiji selling well! Good sign that the Anime was able to push the novel up, one + point for S2 to happen.
We already knew that - pre-anime boost mondaiji-tachi's volume 1 was on 27898, and sales per volume was consistently slightly under 20k. Vol 1 reranked a few times thanks to the anime, eventually ending up on 52367. Volume 7, the first new volume that was affected by the boost, accumulated 50107 sales before disappearing, including 17k on its first 2 days of sale, stretching to 42k after 9.
As this volume had a LE that never ranked, there's no way of knowing whether this volumes 30891 in 5 days is better or worse than the previous volume, but it is definitely well above the figures the series was getting before the anime came along.
There is no such thing as shit taste. Only idiots who think everyone should have the same taste as they do.

I've heard really good things about reinousha minato, and bought the volumes 1 and 2 two months ago. Haven't read them yet considering the amuount of novels I bought back then, but I'm expecting really good things from it. Although since I haven't started reading yet I can't really rejoice about it selling well yet, it's still good to see.
For what I know those are really well done mystery/supernatural light novels after all.

I got the LE with the BD OAD and hope that the yearly list will include the RE number.
Either way, I am happy it is selling well. I was hoping for a hint of season 2 in the OAD but no such luck...
I posted the lists of >50k sales during 2013 to date, and >100k total sales listed in any rankings list since the start of 2011 for light novels on the LNDB forum, in case anyone is interested. They can be found here. I intend to update the list most weeks/whenever practical.

TheSeymour said: can anyone tell me how many 1st week sells is considered 'good' for a manga?
i also like that to know
It depends on the expectation, right? One Piece selling less than 1 million would not be considered good, but I am sure every other manga would love to sell even half a million. To be honest, EVERY title that make up in the list published by Oricon (and posted in the news threads here) should be considered to have good sales because there are simply a lot more manga published every week than the titles listed here. So only those titles which are on the top of the competition managed to be charted. So there you go.

But even this is impressive. 1.5 million sales in 3 days.
Anyone think it can hit 3 million in the next week?
It probably won't. I think recently the volumes have hit the 2.8 mark and not much after. Usually the first few days have crazy insane sales and then day by day sales quickly drop. BUT, these sales that drop are still pretty good. It's just that most people apparently buy almost immediately when it comes out.
I think it won't hit 3 million until an EPIC volume comes out. I personally think this volume's content is worthy of hitting that peak, but from what I've seen online it's 50 50 shot of it doing so.
