THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

From too cute to too big in one episode. <L>

Yet another great episode in this great series.

It looks like Natsume gets a visit from another shouta next episode.

zomg, cutest thing ever.

Nyanko-sensei is hilarious, as always. "It might be tasty once it hatches." "Oh, I see!"

Anyway, what was "left behind"? Love, friendship, memories, that sort of thing?

Nyanko-sensei hatching the egg totally made my day. ^^

When the Tama-chan took flight with Natsume and Nyanko on his back, the scene was so beautiful that I officially died XD

^ that scene was beautiful but I have to say that this was my least favorite episode so far. it was too predictable

Nyanko-sensei is the best as usual, hatching the egg and trying to touch Tama in the end XD

Where every other show disappoints, or bores (Rideback probably being the only exception) ZNY delivers on every level. I could watch Akikan a million times if I know at the end of the day I get to watch quality storytelling like this. Animation was a little lax here, but honestly, the strength of the story and direction surpasses this flaw. God, I love this show.

While this was a beautiful episode (like they all are) I have to say that this is the 'worst' of this season's (I use this term lightly, and as a basis of comparison, it is by no means awful). Yes, it was cute, but no, I didn't feel any sence of anticipation for what would happen next. I can tell if an episode is good (to me), if I had to stop in the middle of it, and I really, REALLY didn't want to. If I had to stop in the middle of this one...? Honestly? I wouldn't care. Perfectly predictable storyline. It would have been easy to add some neat little twists in here and there. Maybe that's why I was so dissapointed? Because where there would have been twists in a normal Natsume fashion, there were none.

This is by no means a real insult. I don't feel like sugar-coating anything today. It remains to be a brillant episode, that is 10 times better than most anime that's out there (to me).

I'm looking more forward to the 5th episode of which they previewed at the end of this one. So I'll keep my eyes open and hope that we get something that'll keep me interested.

Yeah, I could see everything that happened from a mile away. Well, at least it made me smile.

I am in complete awe of this series' ability to get even better with every consecutive episode. Natsume was portrayed brilliantly in this one, and his character is well-enough developed that you can sort out what caused him to act the way he did with ease (and, as others mentioned already, predict it).

I can't say I agree with the comment about plot twists here. Natsume's strength partially lies within its predictability- it's all a part of the atmosphere, and this is a heavily atmospheric show. Although I would agree that this one was probably a bit slow paced for the majority of viewers.

Another great episode. Tama was just too cute and the scenes with Nyanko-sensei and the egg were hilarious.
