Didnt the anime sell like crap? Isn't that a good enough reason for it to not get a second season?

Eh, might watch it
still want a second season though

If you really want to fit in, just put Legend of the Galactic Heroes in your top 5 and have it be the only 10-rated anime in your list.

A season two would have made me happier, but good for them I guess.

I agree. I'm looking forward to what ever they come with though.

Hmm...never seen a live action adaption before. I'm a huge fan of the anime and the manga. It doesn't seem like there's enough chapters (from what I can tell) for a second season yet. I definitely want that too though! Looking forward to it!!

Not quite enough for 2nd season, needs another 10 chapters for the same number that they did in the first season so fall 2014 would work... assuming that something other than disc sales was the reason for it. The manga may not even last that long however. It is in a place where it could end really soon or it could go on for some time depending on what Kanae and Dessert want to happen.

Even if i wanted to watch this, i would still need for it to come out then wait another months for it to get subbed, just for me to basically watch the whole story from the anime. Seems not very worth it. :/

Ooh nice. But a season 2 would be nicer.

My feelings exactly. But in the end, I'll probably end up watching it regardless. :)

Good , its nice to ruin bad shows since they were bad to begin with [ opinion about the anime alone , not the manga ]

& its been a while since we seen a good live action of a manga/anime

I just hope it's good.
As everyone here, my opinion is the same, they should just focus on doing a second season.

Season one wasn't that good, half way through it just started getting so boring and generic. Though I would watch movie adaption on my free time

This goes for everyone talking about how they'd "rather a season 2" and how "they should focus on another season instead". The budget isn't from the same pool, so this doesn't add or detract from a season 2.

Actually, this adds to the likelihood of a season 2 because it will raise awareness of the manga and anime series and thus sales of both of those along with it.

People keep saying "They should focus on a season 2" but who is this "they" you're referring to? The mangaka isn't the screenwriter for the anime or live action. They aren't involved whatsoever. The anime production staff isn't involved in the live action series in any way whatsoever either.

Who exactly are you people thinking is focusing on things or not? This is not a centralized product. There's the mangaka, there's the publisher of the manga, there's the bigger company that owns the publisher, there's the studio and staff working on the anime, there's the bigger owner of the studio making the anime, there's the studio and staff working on the live action, and the bigger owner of the studio working on the live action, and then there's the tv stations, stores/products that are involved, and so on and so forth.

A story is not one singular product worked on by one singular group with one singular base of money. This is factually not a situation you can say you would prefer a second season of the anime over this - because it's entirely unrelated.

You're discussing two entirely different products being paid for with entirely different funds by entirely different people and being worked on and 'focused' on by nobody who has anything to do with the anime adaptation in any way whatsoever. The only connection is the story is the same. There is nobody who COULD be focused on the anime adaptation instead that is focusing on this version because it's not like they take the anime staff and throw them into the live action's production.

Dessert September has a big pull out ad for the 2014 live action roadshow AND on the back side, tons of product tie-ins! Arnold Palmer, Dolce & Gabbana, iPod Nanos... talk about merchandise tie ins! Oh, and Mei and Yamato grace the cover as well.

Though after such a big announcement it is odd as it seems the manga is taking a two month break after chapter 45 (unless they mean after next month) with volume 11, OAD episode 14 and now the road show coming out.

The anime was pretty good overall. Hopefully they live up to it, but my guess is that it will be probably exactly the same (word for word)
Waiting for BBCode to come back.

Hmm... wasn't expecting this. Like others I would have preferred season 2 of anime but... if they get to chapter 39 of the manga it could be interesting.... what rating I wonder?

i agree but it'll probably be rated pg-13 and if they do chapter 39 it might be a quick kiss scene then flash next scene but i hope its rated r lol a girl can dream right?

like everyone else i prefer a season 2 but i would want it to be better than season 1
