This was not your typical hot springs episode. I really liked this. ZNY just improves with each episode. Natori shows his face again, and the pair continue their walking on eggshells and slight duplicities around each other. Am I wrong, or is this the first time that Natsume is outright deceived by the yokai he gives the name back to (Rina?)? Anyway, I was a bit surprised that the yokai he helped came back in such glorious fashion, since I had expected that the spirit was the former. I was especially surprised by this seeming theme with words, and lies. I can't remember if it was so prevalent in the first season, but it definitely struck a chord with Takashi's dream.

Great episode. I really liked it.

i wonder if we'll see the 3 eyed yokai from the end again. think it would be interesting if we did. tho personally i'd prefer to see the man hater from the first season again first ;)

much better hot springs episode than most i've seen, was totally expecting a fanservice heavy filler, glad i was wrong.

heheh. Such repressed sexual tension in this episode. I feel bad for that girl who has a crush on Natsume.

Anyway, great episode. Totally loving the new OP and ED.

Truth be told, I felt no sign of sexual tension present in this episode whatsoever. The series has still been able to capture its amicable, mysterious essence thus far. Indeed the twists at the end along with the play with words satisfied me enough to anticipate the upcoming episodes of the season. Natori continues to leave me curious. Somehow I am slightly expecting him to betray Natsume and take the Book of Friends for himself. Not sure why. I suppose Nyanko-Sensei influenced the thought.

So far ZNY has lived up to its entertaining status. I certainly hope that the end of the series won't be a disappointment unlike many others.

Natori: Hey, Natsume, want to come to a hot spring with me?

Natori: We've been lying for all of our lives, Natsume. If you ever want to be honest with yourself, come with me.

Natsume: Other people can't see the newt-shaped tatoo on Natori's body. *turns away* I don't know where to look.

Natsume: So I ended my first trip to a hot spring. I headed home feeling slightly uneasy.

You were really expecting that from an anime like this? then again, it was a little fanservicy for us girls xD

I feel the same way, like in any moment he will steal it. I hope if he does steal it, it would be for a good reason.
Anyways, I love this series ^^; It was really funny how Nyako sensei changed his face and attitude when food was mentioned.
I am also happy for the little fanservice for us!!!! I expect more lol

Heh heh I got some BL vibes from this episode too.

Anyway, this episode is special because it shows that kindness may not always be rewarded with kindness, and yet things will eventually find a way to reward a person of a good deed.

at least somekind of reasonable episode ... natsume is still a noob a useless guy but his actor-friend is responsible ..

The beginning with the group of little carriers was hilariously cute, but then when Natsume saw what they were carrying... XD Can't believe the skull turned out to be an incredibly awesome yokai, though. That was quite surprising.

Loved when Natsume and Natori were at the Onsen. Natsume 'not knowing where to look' was too funny. The whole episode reeked of BL~ not that I've a problem with that! ;D When Natori was invited Natsume, the whole way it played out, and when Natori offered Natsume a home. I FFFFF-d at that. "Perhaps we can live together, without pretenses." Oh, Brains Base. You guys really do know how to send a fangirl's mind racing, heh!

I've a feeling that Natsume dreaming more and more about his past will play a big part soon. I felt so sorry for him when he woke up crying. Pretty tragic as well about Natsume's feelings about everyone; that he can't say what he truly wants to feel. Poor kid has no self-confidence. Totally understandable, but still pretty sad. I'm happy for Natsume, that at least he can come to terms with it.

Nice episode and showing more of Natsume childhood which a good insight.

sexual tension? BL? you people disgust me, seriously. at least keep these comments away from such beautiful (and completely pure) anime like Natsume Yuujinchou -.-

loved this episode, and yes i think it's the first time we meet such an ungrateful youkai o.o a nice change, can't expect all of them to be nice and leave in peace. loved Natsume's self monologue at the end. <3

that was interesting. it would only make sense that if you help them out they help you too. that was a pretty powerful one too. hehe. karma? maybe.

The return of the buta neko.

That was not your obligatory onsen episode, I guess. Enjoyed it, the next episode seems to be a hilarious one. Can't wait.

Great, as Natsume always is. Same sort of elegantly simplistic storytelling, with just the right amount of subtlety lying underneath the surface in regards to character development. I'm looking forward to the next one just as much.

Nice episode. It's the first time Natsume got tricked into giving someone's name back.
Nyanko was hilarious as always, especially when he pushed himself onto the glass ^^

Definitely not your average onsen episode here.

Again, it's emotional (especially since this is the first time in the 2 seasons Natsume was tricked into returning a name), and yet it maintains its very relaxing atmosphere with mystery, and a good amount of comedy that kept me entertained (of course, thanks to Nyanko-sensei).

It really keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to see the next episode.

This was another good episode of ZNY, so far the show is a perfect 3 for 3 in my opinion. Of the three episodes this may have been the best. My favorite part was probably the end of the fight with the bad yokai. It was a big surprise to see the demon at the start of the episode come in to save the day. I would have guessed Natori or Nyannko-sensei would step in to save Natsume instead.

Now that Natori has seen the book's powers it will be interesting to see how he reacts. Like others have suggested I think he will try and take it. I still don't trust his character and think he is using Natsume for another goal.
