| Very... strange anime yet I kinda liked this episode. I don't understand why that Benten woman decided to kiss our main character (whom for some reason likes to transform into a girl) but perhaps the plot will thicken next episode. Seems like a nice and relaxed anime, I'm looking forward to the next episode. It does remind me of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (especially with the old guy whom lost his soul when our main character flipped his/her skirt) and Katanagatari... interesting mix. |
| The scenary is just, amazing! The story seems... Ok. And the characters are amazing, also I liked so much the MC. xD I hope it gets better in the next episodes, but I probably I'll continue watching. |
| Intriguing 1st episode. I want to know more of the story now!!! And that little brother tanuki is so cute especially when the dog bark at him and his tail showed up. And the big brother too when he saw the main character! The art totally reminds me of Tatami galaxy and Sayonara Zetsobou Sensei. |

| Wow, I gave it 9/10 already, just finished the first episode. Gaped the whole time. The biggest and nicest surprise for me this season. Looks like mature SoL with a very well blending supernatural themes. And the characters are nothing short than awesome. |
| Wow, I went into this with low expectations thinking it would be just a silly little anime but I'm completely surprised! It has almost all the aspects that I look for in a show, I only hope the plot won't disappoint. It lest me really interested. |

She clearly was saying that to intimidate them though. |

| This was so great !! One of my favorite first episodes this season. I love the art style; so simple but still expressive. I love how the show just kind of rolled in without much exposition. It makes it feel like we're entering a new world, you know? So excited for new eps! |

| I liked the first episode, but I don't know yet if it will be great. There's potential, and I'm curious about how everything will connect with such an interesting array of characters already. Besides, I've always liked stories with these supernatural elements mixed in with what seems to be regular life. |

| An animation quite different, coming from the PA But I even liked the climate and the Nipponese feudal aspect of the anime, and the charismatic characters. Because the pilot, not to know much yet, actually, in terms of plot, this episode showed nothing but wait until the next one, I'll still in doubt of what really is the purpose of the anime. |

| Pretty interesting first episode, the atmosphere is quite charming and the cast is pretty likeable right off the bat. As expected of P.A. Works the art is colorful, the backgrounds detailed and very pretty (though those ears are quite funny themselves) I'm pretty intrigued by Benten, and that scene where Yasaburou "mailed" the love letter to her was one of my favorites from the episode |

Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |
| I knew I would love this show when I viewed the first PV a few months ago {even though the PV didn't tell me much aside from "there are tanuki people look at this temple watch this"}. Easily my favorite first episode of the season... though I admit the cross-dressing did catch me off-guard, it made it even better somehow. Yeah, I'm personally hoping it will attract a wider audience by episode 4. :/ Definitely deserves more recognition than it's garnering right now. |

The cross dressing was one of the things that made it stand out. It was such an odd and interesting creative choice, and it wasn't done in a dumb fanservicey manner and wasn't even addressed that much. Also smoking and drinking, which you don't really see that often. Lots of little things that made me go "hmmmm." |

| I think I came into this with impossibly high expectations? Or I guess I didn't really know what to expect, but I think I was expecting something zany yet it turned out to be pretty smooth and slow paced, neither of which are bad things. I'll have to calm down a bit and really just watch this episode again. I pretty much understand what's going on at least, and that's a good thing. I mean they didn't really explain everything in your average "look at this flashback" type of way, and I appreciated that. I'd really like to see how this plot evolves and where this series goes. Go for it Uchouten Kazoku! Win my heart! :U |

| I like it Colorful and artistic style are always plusses for me, especially when the story takes place in Kyoto. I also love the dynamics between characters and so far the premise looks interesting. Let's see how PA Works will handle this |

| People that are arguing about dropping this, just don't understand the beauty and the art of this episode. I'm sad for you, really. The ears are unique, like the noses in Kaiji and I love them. The OST were great so far. I can feel the familiar sense of Tatami Galaxy by the same author, also the plot is basically the same [until now] if you pay attention. (Except tengu/tanuki's stuff) 5/5 then, I'm loving it already. The hidden gem of the season. Also, dat kiss. |

| Filled with charm! I don't know why I immediately like Sakurai Takahiro's voice in a high school girl... Pleasant art style, the characters have weird ears but I'm ok with that. The dialogue is really engaging, I was glued to every word they were saying. I sensed lots of sexual tension with Satomi but that was all summerised with her shattering kiss in the bar. That sounded painful. I was having doubts about picking up this series but I'm very glad I did. |

To me, it sounds like a social commentary about society and mystical beings, what it takes be human, or of what it takes to be a "normal" family. I very much liked it. The art style, vibrant colours and the many animations the show had going on. The thing that stuck out the most to me was the main character's body language. It's not in-your-face, subtle rather, and it told me a lot more about him than the words coming out of his mouth. Something I would give 9 out of 10 in terms of animation quality. |
| first thought: is that tsuritama? second thought: what is wrong with their ears? third thought: and why is he wearing a girl uniform? but damn, i'm kind of attracted to him. he just looks so... cute with this uniform. plus points for the scene where he was smoking. the whole shape-shifting thing is pretty interesting, as well as the whole idea to make these three "races" live together. but one question about the purple-haired woman: the mc said she's a human, but then we see her flying after she leaves the bar. that means she's actually a tengu or did she learn to fly or... ? i mean she was also flying when they showed the flashback of her being younger and flying for the first time. i'm a bit confused tbh. or is that scene actually supposed to confuse us? |
