| THIS IS AN MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- wow.. way better "and different" than what I expected. The art is amazing and well detailed. While this chapter has it's predictable moments, I was thrilled all way through it. Interesting and likable characters and the history part of it seems very rewarding. |

| The art was indeed really good. Dynamic action scenes aplenty. Starts off with a score of 8, because the story was just so-so, but if that gets better too it'll head to a 9 and who knows where else after that, eh? I'm hoping for educational entertainment like Planetes. |

| The art gets much better since it moved to Afternoon and became monthly instead of weekly. The first chapter was great. Pure awesomeness. But yeah, the story seems pretty simple but hopefully it becomes more in depth. This is completely different from Planetes but it retains some of it's charm. |

Just to pop back into this thread to say I'm at around chapter 60 and have given the manga a 10. It is a really good exploration of revenge, so don't make any simple assumptions about the story, it's really epic. |

| hm was expecting much more... especially story wise. i wasn't much impressed to be honest. hope it will get better later on. the art was quite nice though. 3/5 |

| Well i had my eye on this but i was reluctant starting another slow manga but i guess i gave in and finally started it. Well the time and battles seems exactly what i expected, for now the character of the main seems lukewarm to me and also a little more comedic faces than i expected but all in all it looks good with decent artwork. |

| Very nice art. Very clean and detailed. Each of the action sequences, im able to follow pretty easily. Historical fiction has always been a very rare genre in the medium. I am glad i finally picked this up. I am so far liking it. Although can't really say much bout the main character Thorfinn. But this was a nice first chapter showing the atrocities of war and the brutal carnage. |

| Since there's a possibility that an anime adaption might be announced on the 27th decided to get a head start on read this. Thorfin is badass,expect great things from this (especially considering some of the future events I accidentally spoiled myself). |

| Nice first chapter! The general idea is clear, Vikings, bloody and stronger warriors looking for the fortune!! Now, in this chapter, we can find different Vikings and I suppose that there will be the centre of this manga!!! kekeke The most important now is how to evolve, but if there is a young boy, this means that this young boy will grow or something with adventure, blood and glory!!! kekeke |

| I saw the anime by Wit first and decided to check out the manga after the cliffhanger ending. Seems Wit went out of order to make it chronological for the anime adaptation, this chapter is actually adapted for episode 7 in the anime. I was surprised “Normanni” was in the manga because I didn’t really like the episode and it seemed like filler. However it’s clear to me that they’ve adapted it faithfully in the anime. Good job Wit Studio for episode 7, I guess. Pretty good art and action though. A decent start. |

| Wow, the drawings are stunning and the first chapter kept me really glued to the story from the very beginning! I can definitely see why this manga has such high ratings! Just one thing bothered me... How can they "fire" a weapon before firearms even existed? The story is set in the 11th century, and the first guns appeared in the 14th century 😅 |
