THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Hmm, wonder where that steel beam example came from. Johnson tries to copy the famed Brooklyn rage, but fails. The poor sap.

Looks like another extra innings game is coming up.

Good episode, definitely not as boring as 13.

Pretty entertaining episodel...it's getting toward Kaiji levels of visual metaphor though.

Wow, can`t wait when you say that(no offence ofc) since it looked like you didn't enjoy this show.=)

EDIT: That episode was much better than the previous ones. Can`t wait to see what`s coming up next.

if you like/love this show, then I absolutely recommend watching Kaiji, it's pretty much the same in design, but a lot grittier--i guess that would be the word. I never saw Akagi, but I believe that the three are all in the same boat.

Well, Kaiji is my favorite show, and Akagi was extremely good. Though I think Kaiji is easily the best of the three, but that`s my opinion. I love these shows=)

I would totally watch Akagi if i wasn't too lazy to learn mahjong. I remember i looked up the rules, saw how long they are, and just gave up.
Love Kaiji though.

You don't need to understand mahjong to watch Akagi. It might help, but I don't think it makes much of a difference.

Yup, exactly as you don't need to be a baseball fan to enjoy One Outs :)
In fact, most probably it's even better to be noob at the topic the anime covers.

I completely agree.

If you were someone who follows baseball than you'd just be all the more annoyed at the terrible run support that Tokuchi gets whenever he's in a game.

The Lyacons play TWENTY-SEVEN innings and can't score more than three runs?!

Agree...Well I looked it up a little bit, but I knew next to nothing. That is what amazes me with Akagi, I mean... Do you really know how hard it is to make something really interesting, even if you don`t know wtf is going on? That is pretty sick...

Nice episode, I like how Tokuchi turned the game into a game of One Outs.

The Lycaons offense definitely needs to pick up the slack.

If you like One Outs you'll love Kaiji.

You might like Akagi, but you might be bored unless you really like Mah Jong and extremely repetitive visual metaphors.

btw, anyone else think Tokuchi is Akagi reincarnated?
