Candidates are eligible to enter this League if and only if the following conditions are met: 1. The Candidate must represent an anime series. 2. The Candidate must represent an anime series that is not rated 18+. a. Candidates representing anime depicting pornography or hentai cannot be nominated. b. If the Candidate represents multiple anime series, she must represent a series that is not rated 18+. 3. No limitations exist as to the airdate or length of an anime series. TV series, Original Animation/Animated Videos (OAV), Original Video/Visual Animations (OVA), and movies will be accepted as suitable anime series to be represented as long as the ISML Staff can confirm their existence. C. All Candidates will undergo a background check. 1. If the proposed Candidate is not female and does not exhibit female-like qualities, he or she will fail background check. 2. If the proposed Candidate does not have a name or a proper method of universal identification, he or she will fail background check. 3. If the proposed Candidate does not have sufficient air time within the anime represented, he or she will fail background check. 4. If there is insufficient information during the procedures of background check, the proposed Candidate will fail background check. 5. All rulings regarding background check will be determined by only the ISML Staff. The first time I read this I considered that Touhou isn't allowed yet. The anime didn't air nor was official. It's a fan-made series. I'm still not sure about this so I allocated the points on other characters. Oh yeah, there's no way I'll forget that sweet and clumsy attitude of Haruka. She's one of my best favorites. |

Does that mean that you can only nominate one character per series? Or does it mean you can only nominate a character you believe emanates the heart of a series, or perhaps only the 'main character'? From just 2008, The first and last proposed solutions could be ruled out. |

Just nominate the characters you like/find moe, as most people are :/ there's lots of minor characters in ISML (Kyon's sister was there last year..), and it's not only 'main characters' that can give off a feeling of moe. | Just to answer anyone's questions the touhou anime project is being allowed, but they characters still must pass backround check, basically meaning dont go and vote for China just because she appeared for 10 seconds and was sleeping. as Far as i can tell the only ones that should have no issues passing background check will be Reimu, Aya and Marisa, the scarlet devil girls might make it depending, not sure its not up to me, China and Suika will probably not pass background check Shini-tan said: I'm going to be anti-Clannad except for Tomoyo and Kotomi this year. | Browsed through ISML's nomination requirements does it have any limitations on if the show must have aired within the last year or never been previously nominated because if not this is pretty fail and is not something you should be doing annualy unless there is something to differentiate between the years other than what is currently airing/popular at the time of voting. |
| @Jeffusz: If you want to, you can always email one of the administrators and have you nominations fixed. I think that there are more details on the voting page. @Splitter: Boo. :( I'd gladly vote for Alicia though. @ariolander: Such a limitation would be rather silly when this is supposed to be a 'Best of the Best' tournament, right? (At least, that was one of the taglines for last year, I don't know if I've seen it yet this year) Most popular moe tournaments have restrictions like that, so it's actually nice to have one that doesn't. Regardless, recent shows will do better, as people will forget about characters in older shows or they just haven't seen them. |

Speaking of which went through the rules again so this is basically just a simple character poll 'cause for a Saimoe League it has nothing to do with being "moe" at all... | Well, they always were popularity contests; it's not like at one point there was a panel of judges who rated these characters in specified catagories of moe. As for faction/hate voting and other similar things, as far as I know, those have always existed to an extent and it's not really going to ever change that much. There are only so many restrictions you can place and some of them cannot be enforced fully. The rules are for proper conduction of the contest and as 'moe' is a somewhat subjective concept, it'll always be up to the voters to define it. Anyway, to an extent, the e-drama is part of the fun. |

There's a lot of talk about what's really going on with Minorin. Many people I talk with seem to think her airheadedness is a defense mechanism. She's had some really surprising moments since the first few episodes, like her talk with Ryuuji at the summer villa about why she's scared of ghosts, and also when she confronted Ryuuji after he had been pressing Taiga to reconcile with her dad. There's definitely more there than just an airhead As for Rei... well, she is moe, no denying that, but I greatly dislike her so I didn't even consider her. |

| Characters in Toradora are surprisingly deep. I would not be surprised if multiple characters appear in Saimoe contests for years to come (especially after the series ends). Saimoe league is gonna be fun. Lots of character analysis and interesting matchups gonna happen. Gottalove that 64x64 round robin. Can't wait for Prelims to start. |
| I'd personally consider Ami the most moe girl in toradora. I don't even consider Minori moe, I can't really find excitable characters moe, but those types of characters do entice me, in another way. Taiga is also surprisingly moe despite her clumsy tendencies, not as moe as Ami, but close, and for the same reasons. I think it's just because Toradora has done tsundere right, way too right... |
