that might be because setsuna isnt much of an expressive character but i think 00, at least season 1 was good, geass is good too |

Takuya-kun said: that might be because setsuna isnt much of an expressive character but i think 00, at least season 1 was good, geass is good too See I'd have to disagree. This is because one, 00 to me has so many borrowed elements from other Gundams (and sadly Geass with it's design and characters) and could possibly be pretty good but the fact the dialog is atrocious and just about everyone has a moment of crying breakdown for no reason makes the show borderline intolerable. With Geass the first season was meh, not bad but not great but the second season plunged that show into a deep hellhole it won't ever crawl out of with all it's twists and nonsensical plot. It also didn't help that the cast of characters were damn near unlikable. And someone please explain to me why all the Federation mechs have lances as if it's medieval Europe? It looks ridiculous. This is Gundam and not some Renaissance Fair. |

well with so many gundams now there can seem to be similarities while some are obvious copies, some i can say are only parallells, and ANN's initial impressions on 00 that people took like the bible didnt really help people into having an open mind for the show, a lot of gundam itself is parallel to non-gundsam shows that some people might take as copying i usually take shows by what they're supposed to be rather than what characters are supposed to be not because that way we can have diifferent shows, i had no problems keeping up with shinji's crying that though was annoying, it made the shows what it was about the lances, i actually thought they were an innovative design since its both a melee weapon ang a gun which is different from the mass produce suits of other shows |

I don't have a problem with characters being emotional but these characters are too much being either carbon copy's of other shows or lack any shred of human feeling. There's a difference of the one's here and Shinji who i didn't mind the crying and break downs because he is a damaged child beyond recognition. Everyone in Evangelion was. Here it's not as necessary to have everyone being broken down at certain moments. There are times for it but other times they have been overly emotional when it comes to certain scenes. But this is not a great or even marginal hinderence to the likability of the show but is just something I point out. I also went into this show blind hearing all the rave reviews about it and that got me excited. I wasn't going in saying well this can't compare to the orignal, Zeta or the 08th MS Team but said this could be another great installment. But what I got out of the first season first few episodes was a show that seemed to be alot like Code Geass which is a show I loath due to a problematic plot and characters that were rubbish. The biggest problem would have to be the predictable dialog and how it's poorly written (or at times the seeming lack of dialog due to everyone seeming to be speechless at almost anything that counters them) I also don't think that the connections between the others hurt the Gundam but there are great deals of similarities between factors such as the A-LAWS being the Titans and other things of that sort and Bushido being Quatro. I think though if there was some more originality with the characters then it would be much more exciting then seeing the tiresome standard character here, loli there, etc. But this isn't just for Gundam but several other anime these days as well. When it comes to watching animes, I do take all things into consideration and the characters are a big part. How they fit, how they connect to the story, likability, etc all matter when judging a show. A anime can have a phenomenal story, great art, soundtrack, everything but if the characters lack that connection to the audience then it will hinder the overall pleasure of the show. The anime doesn't rest on the characters shoulders but it is as crucial of a part of the anime as is story for they both need to work hand in hand to show the full picture. This is especially true with a anime like Gundam that shows all sides involved and because of this has a huge cast of characters who need screen time and help drive the story. Is Gundam 00 season 1 and 2 so far a bad anime? Not in the slightest but are there problems to it? Of course there is and they could easily be fixed if some of the principle characters were given more than your standard dimensions and the dialog was better between the characters. It's ok at times to not be as out of the box because Gundam has had a winning formula for 30 years but certain areas need tweaks to make certain shows like this better. |

Amuro and Kamile hands down. It disgust me to no end that both Heero and Kira are geting so many votes. I would say Shiro Amada from 08th MS Team to be one of my favorties if he was on this list. It's mainly because he fought a MS-06RD-4 Zaku II to a stalemate and actually surviving that battle in a RB-79K Ball on the very first episode. Modified by Alpha-Genesis, 04-01-09, 9:42 PM |

I still guess those who say Setsuna haven't seen any other Gundams or any UC cause it's bollocks if otherwise. No offense |

Finally someone has passed Kira from SEED. It is.. Setsuna from 00 :D Well at least he was a far better character than Kira, even if Setsuna wasn't a good character. |
