| Ok, but doujinshi.mugimugi.org lists both doujins and manga. Ex: http://doujinshi.mugimugi.org/book/9062/Karin-1/ It states on the page you posted "Type: Manga / 漫画", so it says it'd not a doujin. It also has a publisher listed (Moerl Publishing / モエールパブリッシング), and doujins are "non-published/self-published works" so it can't be a doujin. It also contains an Amazon link which has an official ISBN (978-4903028194), further confirming that it's not a doujin. The same can also be said for the other two manga. |
| Sounds good. I apologize for the mistake. As I said previously, simply re-submit the manga and either one of the other manga mods or myself will look at the entries again. However, this time around, please try to provide more information when you do submit (ex. a source for the plot synopsis, adding in the mangaka, a manga-update ID, etc), instead of the bare minimum, so it'll be easier for us to discern whether these submissions are indeed manga or not. And I'm still learning the ropes as well, so bear with me. :D Thanks for the heads up though. |
| Alright. I have a question though, what is this "doujinshi with no credible author"? The thing it the front says: We accept original Doujin, meaning it has to be by the original author or an origional story. If its a Doujin based on another manga but not the same author, we will not accept it. It doesn't say anything about the mangaka being credible, and "credible" is also such a weasel word too. How do you define who is a "credible doujin writer", considering most are not well known and change their pen-names too often as it is.As for the mangaka in the db: I usually submit them after I've submitted the manga since it takes forever for people to be approved. If I where to do everything in order, it would take several days just to add one. (submit author, wait for approval + submit manga, wait for approval + submit manga to authors works, wait for approval. repeat) ------- Oh, and congrats on the promotion. |

| I'm sorry, I believe vindemon said "with authors that are not well-established", and said nothing about "credible doujin writer". Credible author does sound a little fishy ^^; We accept original doujinshi from "well-established" mangaka. By well-established, we mean mangaka that have published works in addition to doujinshi. This is to keep people from sitting at their desk, drawing a few panels, binding it and then trying to submit their manga to our DB ^^; If we cannot find published works by the mangaka of submitted original doujins, we will deny them. If you provide us with links to their published works that we may have over-looked, then we will be happy to re-evaluate our decision. I believe where the "credible source" comes from, is we also need to find some mention of these manga/doujin, and preferrably not only on some random person's personal webpage ^^; I see that vindemon has covered this already for this submission, but I thought to clarify on the process. We will be posting a clear list of Manga DB Guidelines over the next few days that should hopefully cover this and much more :3 |
| OK, but then that goes back to what I said before. Mangaka usually write under different pen-names when dealing with doujins, so there won't be any "published works" attached to these names, and there are also mangaka that only make doujins. I understand that you don't want the "average joe" submitting their home comics to the db, but this also blocks real mangaka's doujins from being added. Is there any other way to prove an author's authenticity? |

| If you can associate the doujin pen-names to the pushibled mangaka, then yes. We don't want separate people entries for pen-names anyway. As for those without published works, they will not be accepted at this time. The only way around this is if the doujinshi is collected and authorized by a reputable publishing company, and distributed like standard manga. We are a manga database, not a doujin database :) I hope this helps! |

| We prefer white or black censoring, but it doesn't need to stand out. In an image like this, white looks nicer so it can stay. While that censoring may be sufficient if it were a grown woman, this isn't enough for loli/shota images. As I said before, we are moving to be more strict with these images. As such, there are two options: censor ALL nudity on the image, or crop it. Hmm...if I recall correctly (which I probably don't because my memory sucks), the girl on the picture looked really young, so I simply assumed she was under 18. Anyway, regardless of the fact, the censor was not enough. We are trying to implement more stricter censors on pictures for hentai manga submissions, thus the need for a more obvious censor than what was submitted. One other thing that could be done is instead of using white censor bars which sometimes blend into the image, using black ones that stand out really help too.
