Are there no raws or something? Or just because the fansubbers didn't want to do it anymore? |

-It's a Shoujo series, or a show for little girls. Even though there's alot of mature subject mature and the characters and plot have a metric bitch ton of development and depth, fansubbers are always reluctant to do historical shows and shoujo shows so combining them doesn't help. -The anime community isn't well versed in classical literature historically and a show like this demands that there me a quality checker who is extremely knowledgeable in both the time period and the source material. This take more work than most groups are prepared or used to doing. Just look at a series like Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei, the Japanese in that is of a very high level so it requires alot of work to translate it, also it has all those awesome little comments. -It's not very popular. The fansub community is very needy for affection. Fansubbers want their work to be recognized by a group of people. There's little incentive to sub a series that'll have a very small, silent base. I was looking forward to this alot, I'm a fan of Les Misérables, but oh well. I have to wait 'til it gets licenced and even that's a very slim possibility. |

I believe there is a group or two still trying to do it. Not sure what's going on though. No interest or motivation perhaps? |

wait they haven't finished subtitling it? I was waiting to watch this series until all the episodes were subtitled but i guess based o this conversation they're not. How many are done? I was really looking forward to seeing the anime version of one of my favorite novel/musicals ever. |

Yeah, there's still only six episodes out, and the last releases were in August (although two groups still say it's active). |

It's a shame that such a good series isn't subbed and a lot of new crap has 2-3 fansub groups ... |

This is truly sad because it's such a Historicaly accurate show and it's very good (from what I have seen so far). I should realy read the book this is based off of while I wait. I have already listened to the musical. X3 |

Unless your a fan of 18 Century French Political Ramblings i suggest reading an abridged copy. That is unless you think you could handle 1000+ pages (http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/135 ) I read it a few years ago (full text), it's a semi laborious read at times, but at other times it's pretty remarkable. ps(These copies i linked hold no US copyright status) Modified by gau, 03-31-08, 5:30 PM I’ve found it!” Tas said reverently. “A holy artifact!” He held it to the light. “The Kender Spoon of Turning.” “Are you sure?” Usha leaned forward, examined it closely. “It looks like the spoons we used last night at dinner. It’s even got strawberry jam on it.” “Don’t be frightened, Usha, but that’s blood,” said Tas solemnly. “It’s the Kender Spoon of Turning. I’d know it anywhere. My Uncle Trapspringer carried one with him all the time....” |

Oh... u.u I got to know the musical and I fell in love with it so now I'm reading the book and I'd love to have the whole anime subbed.. I only saw 1 or 2 episodes, but it looks so awesome... But ok... I don't mind waiting as long as I get the series ;P I just wished that now and then an episode was released... Just to keep me believing that the anime will be all subbed ;P |

I think the reasons are the same as everyone above me already said - general lack of interest and whatnot. That said, I'm a die-hard Mizzie who downloaded and watched the entire show raw simply because it was a Les Mis anime, and I have to say that the groups fansubbing this really should continue. For a children's show, it does a remarkable job of keeping close to canon (with one or two glaring exceptions), and the vocabulary is straightforward enough that anyone with even a basic grasp of the language would probably be able to understand what was going on. |

Rejoice! FormulaSub says they will soon be releasing more episodes! Never mind, they've officially dropped it now. :( Modified by Anomalous, 08-21-08, 8:34 AM |
