i would love for a 3rd season, ONLY if it follows the manga
2nd season kinda annoyed me wen they didnt show much of Tsukune's goul powers

Does anyone know if there will be a third season of the show?

Nevermind, after a bit more searching the web looking at the right places i found some useful info.

Seemingly, it appears that there is a third season planned to be released after the summer this year (2009) so we will have a reunion. If its going to follow the manga i don't know but i don't think they are as they seem to want to focus on the romantic side more than the consipiracy sides from the manga (a shame they can't do both really)

Yes I want a 3rd season.Hopefully they do not edit the panty shots,those little bears and bats were annoying. I loved the fact the tv series decided to deviant from the manga and not make Tsukune a ghoul. The whole point of the series is about a human secretly attending a school for monsters, if he is a ghoul then he is not a human attending a school for monsters but a monster attending a school for monsters. Which that is part of the humor of the show.

I don't understand, how is it that people are even asking for a 3rd season?!

Whether or not Gonzo follows the plot in the manga is one thing, but having to fill every episode with cheap animations and abuse of fan service makes me not the least bit thrilled for a 3rd season. With season 1, there was at least a decent plot despite the episodes being so formulaic, while as for season 2, I couldn't even tell that there was a plot until the very end of episode 8.

Beisdes, Gonzo was obviously doing this to milk money. I mean why else instead of just making an ongoing 50+ episode adaptation that followed the manga, did Gonzo play it safe by seeing if the show could be green lit for 13 episodes on 2 occasions? So even if here is a 3rd season that might be green-lit, then I would bet my ass that it wouldn't follow the manga 100%.

And I normally don't mind anime adaptations as long as the story is worth following and doesn't go stupid with nothing but "harem panty-fests."

Quite simple. People have different opinions and interests. I for one want rosario vampire to be harem panty fest because thats the reason I'm watching it, not some stupid storyline that will be nothing more than medicore even if they try to put it in.

Hey don't get me wrong, I'm all for pointless fun and different opinions, and even stories with a undeveloping plot. It's just as long as a company does not use a name as an adaptation of a story that actually tries to take itself seriously! To me, the tone in the Rosario+Vampire anime is too silly for it to capture the same feel as when one reads the manga.

I actually like the anime a bit more than the manga because I dislike the seriousness that is currently in it. I liked it better when it was romance/school anime with small action in it mostly inner Moka easilly beating opponents. After Tskune got the ability to fight and the plot was about defeating some evil organizations then it became boring.

I just finished this anime and i will be happy if season 3 will come . . .
for me anime is good i didn`t read manga so don`t know about story line in manga so untill me start reading R+V manga there will be no problem about 3rd season of anime even if don`t go with manga :P

I read the manga and watched the anime...

I really want to have that damn Chapter 23 for manga
And I really want to have that damn Season 3 for anime...

But 9 episodes of filler is going a bit overboard....
They should at least follow the manga for 7-8 episodes then use filler... :D
