THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
This was my favourite arc of the series. I really liked how this arc and the series ended. For instance, I like how this arc ended with the main characters remembering Ichikawa, since the dead cannot be revived only remembered (at least that's my take on it :P). Overall, this was a great series. The story arcs were great for the most part and the animation and cinematography were truly unique and amazing, such that you don't see this kind of imagery in the vast majority of animes out there. This anime really plays on your mind and senses.

Aye was a brilliant series. Not another generic looking anime with 'pretty boys and girls' in all their shiny hair and reflective eye glory.

The art style was amazing, the story arcs were intriguing and relatively dark in nature given the types of deaths that took place, the music fit really well to the animation and Medicine Seller is now one of my favourite character despite not knowing his real name (If he even has one that is).

I have to agree that the Ghost Cat arc was the best, slowly piecing together parts of the mystery to gain the regret seemed greater than that of the previous arcs.

Now i just have to hope for a second season.

I definitely enjoyed watching this series -- the art style is really unique, and one that just grabs you among the typical art style most anime series possess. The story arcs were definitely intriguing and I loved how one indirectly learns about Japanese culture and folklore.

You took the words out of my mouth. ^^ The Noppera-bo arc is another favorite.

The Medicine Seller is an interesting, mysterious character and quickly became my favorite when I first saw / heard him. In fact, I liked his voice so much the seiyuu is now on my favorite voice actors' list.

Can't believe it's finished. I hope there's a second season. ^_^

* off to watch Ayakashi (the Medicine Seller is in all story arcs!)*

Same, in fact that's the only reason as to why I got around to finally watching Karas. Sounds gay but I melt when I hear his voice.

yes, call me bias but the Medicine Seller will never sound right if he wasn't voiced by Sakurai
The last arc was definitely my favourite of all, maybe it seemed more scary to me compared to the rest...or maybe cats end up being scarier?
Heard that the dvd sales were very very good so there is definitely hope for a 2nd series!

Brilliant finish and definitely the best episode out of them all, and the best arc to boot. Gorgeous storytelling, directing, art and cinematography; it's a shame something like that is so rare nowadays.

A second season would be excellent, so here's hoping.

It was a captivated and unique series that dazed me to the end . I really like the "Medicine seller"; he is now one of my favorite characters. I actually like this series because of the short stories that took 3 or 2 episodes rather than just one like Mushishi. Great ending, I hope they make more.

It is sad that only few people have see it.

Score: 9/10.

Gave it a 10 myself, just brilliant in every way.

Be glad it was only 12 episodes people, thats why its so quality. Wouldnt mind another 12 episode season naturally, maybe get a bit more info on the medicine seller, nothing too flashbacky or expositiony, just some vague hints here and there.

I loved this series to pieces. The ending bakeneko arc was also really awesome cause it sort of brought you back to the original bakeneko shown in ayakashi. I loved the final scene with the flowers and stuff too. Chiyo defenitely was just like Kayo, who i Love.

I'm sad this show is over. I could easily watch another season of this show, if the stories were just as intense and exciting. <3

Good serie, but to short and we don't know nothing about the medicine seller. The animation is really amazing. I need a second season to give it more score.

This anime is amazing! Now that I've finished it (unfortunately) I really can't choose which arc I liked best. I loved them all... but maybe the original bakenekko arc, from Ayakashi, was such a surprise that I can't get over it.

It's true there's nothing as gorgeous as this in other series. If someone knows of any please let me know! The amount of colors in the screen dazzled me chapter after chapter.

I'd really like a second season, especially so we can get to know the Medicine Seller better.

what am I going to watch now? =(

An excellent episode as usual, the mononoke's true form was really awesome *_*
Maybe the story was a bit too predictable but it was well-narrated so that's not really a problem for me.

I became quickly addictive of this series, this was so breathtaking.
I had some apprehension before beginning this series because of the graphics but now I'm really glad that I have seen it.
But too bad, it is already finished, I really want more >_<

I hope there will be a second season ...
Personnally I give it a 9 to 10, that was really a great show :)

Oh and Kusuriuri FTW that's it.

wasn't any good... if it was a real movie, those dolls and kittens might work but in an anime they just don't do the trick, being scary that is.

episodes 1-2 and 8-9 were great for me to ignore this bitter final tough. also, after episodes 1-2, it gradually get less artistic/abstract and more detective stuff.

Awesome episode, just great to finish what imo was the best arc.

this is definitly a serie to remember and rewatch, and it entered my top 10.

10/10 for the arc 9/10 for the whole series (sometimes to much folklore, that it got confused for me infortunally)

I kinda hated this arc. Unlike the rest of the series, there was not enough paranormal things to bring up the atmosphere. Also, Kusuriuri did almost nothing (and he could have been more sarcastic here!). I really appreciated link between this and original Ayakashi Bakeneko characters, but I preferred them there.
To put it simple, I did not get what I always wanted from Mononoke in this episode.

Anyway, Kusuriuri is as awesome as ever and all in all series is 9/10 for me (not 10 because of the last arc).

I'd love to see one more season of that, but I think it's never gonna happen. Well, I'll have to wait for another anime like this one.

That scene with Ichikawa lying on the rails was simply great. Horrible when you think what actually happened there, but nonetheless of amazing quality.

Oh, this, so much. Very unique.
It was so gripping, I watched all 12 episodes today >.> That's never happened before.
Kusuriuri is such a cool character, and much of it is thanks to Sakurai's amazing voice-acting (who just grew in my eyes, so damn much).
...I want a second season xP

And thesy remembered Ichikawa - so touching.

I usually write a review after finishing a series but...I don't think I will with this because I'll come off as a fan boy. But, really, I can't think of anything Mononoke did WRONG at all except for the fact I'd like to learn a little bit more about Kusuriuri but...his mysteriousness adds alot to his character.

In any case, Mononoke was one of the most memorable, haunting, original, and overall best anime I've had the pleasure of seeing. Absolutely fantastic.

That was great. Although I expected an awesome action coz it's the last arc,

the storytelling simply overlaps everything that it exceeded my expectations.

And again, the visuals are stunning that sends chills to my spine. Absolutely breathtaking.

Deserves my 10/10 for being a top-notch quality show..

It seems like all the ones who confessed got away after receiving their punishment. It's good to see that only the ones who were directly responsible for Ishikawa's death had to suffer further consequences.
