I hope it will be early in 2019. I am so hyped for this.

Did anyone count how many manga chapters the 1st and 2nd season cover, respectively?

Let's say Season 3 gets 25 episodes again, how much material would they have left for a possible 4th season?

The first anime season (up to episode 25) adapts most of the manga up to chapter 49. (= The first year and briefly the start of the second year) The only relevant thing (in this sense) which is not adapted from this chapter is the introduction of Sumire Hanano.

The second anime season (up to episode 50) adapts the manga up to the first half of chapter 93 of the manga. Or so.

The topic of the OVA Chihayafuru 2: Waga Miyo ni Furu Nagamese Shima ni is happening during their second summer. (For this part I don't know exactly anymore when it was happening in the manga...)
Does anyone else know?

Currently, there are 203 chapters up to the 39th volume of the original manga,
while the 40th manga volume is upcoming soon... With another 4 chapters maybe? This would make about 208 chapters for now.

Let's say that one anime season with 25 episodes adapts approximately ~50 chapters of the manga, which would mean there is much potential for a fourth season, too. Yes. Maybe even another OVA, too?

Keep in mind, we don't know in which pace they're going to adapt the episodes furthermore, but I think it would be great and fitting if Chihayafuru gets exactly four seasons. (=100 episodes = 100 poems of the hyakkunin isshuu) :3 plus the OVA('s)

Additionally, I think it is highly likely that they're going to focus more on the anime inside of the franchise again as the final (third) live action movie has been produced, screened and now its' DVDs and Blurays are for sale on the market. :3 (Not much left to do there, I guess)

P.S. These are truly worth to watch, too. :3

Chihayafuru season 3 cannot be complete without his voice.
