| If we don't see the conclusion of the individual tournament (which looks very unlikely) in this season then you can pretty much guarantee a 3rd season in time. I wouldn't expect it any time soon though, with the amount of projects MadHouse work on they will probably leave it a while and nothing has been announced yet to my knowledge. |

| After the first season, I was so sure there wasn't going to be a second, especially with the abysmal sales. And then it happened. I have a strong feeling there will be a season three, though it might be a while until we get the next season. It seems that the creators have the intention of following this story through, especially with how faithful it has been to the original source. And I don't recall this being mentioned in the anime (but I might just not remember well), but right from chapter one of the manga... I haven't actually read much of the manga though, but just off of what I know and have heard, I think there's a strong possibility for a third season. |

| Even a third season might not be enough, sadly. The manga is at like...22 volumes now and is still going? The show would probably need at least 4 seasons, or at least faster pacing, to cover everything. | I'm hopeful for a season 3, but at the same time I don't want them to pull a "Bakuman 3" where they pick up on the story's pacing but delete tons of content in an attempt to animate the rest of the manga. |

| I don't believe so since Chihayafuru 2 was only made to promote the manga, we're even lucky to have a season 2. Mod Edit: Please report threads that are in the wrong board instead of addressing this in your post. |

| Season one used 40 odd chapters, season two used another 40. There will be around 20 chapters that haven't been animated, so any possible season three will be a bit of a wait. |

| What do you guys can do when someone is not after money? I read in a legit news before that the director and the producer were making a second season for reasons other than production value. ARIA for an instance, never had immense popularity like many other shows out there. Yet it got three seasons. Tamayura is a very good example as well. Not everyone is after money. Some people love working on things that need love and not just that will get them money. :) |

Ncrdrg said: Chihayafuru is bi-weekly as far as I know. S1 covered 49 chapters, S2 will likely cover up to chapter 92 (so 43 chapters). Currently, there is only 20 chapters that will be unaired. The sweet spot should be around Spring or Summer 2014 I think. This too. The manga is on volume 22 or so, and this season of the anime will get into volume 17. There isn't enough material in the manga right now for another 25 episode season. |

| God, I really hope third season will happen. Especially since the manga has practically zero percent chance of being licensed and the scanlators don't seem interested either. |
| The series is brilliant, but I'm surprised by the number of people that haven't watched it. I guess most of them are put off by the idea of it revolving around a card game. My guess is that it would take around two more matches with the Queen for Chihaya to finally beat her. There's also that mysterious woman in the flashforward January scene, Arata and the Master. Assuming they don't compress the content of the manga, it still has many more seasons to go! I really, really do hope they start working on the next season! |

| Their 3rd year has started in the manga(Raws). Looking at the pace it's going, show will probably need a season 4 & 5 too. Looks like we gotta wait till 2018-19 to see the final Chihaya/Shinobu showdown. :D :D |

Totally agreed. I'm currently on Season 1, but I like to search for the remaining manga chapter numbers after the anime seasons end, so I hope Madhouse will make a S3! |

| I'm assuming that there will be 4 seasons before the series comes to a close. The reason I say this, is each episode is named after a poem, there are 25 episodes for each season, and 100 poems. |
