Whenever you copy (ctrl/cmd+c) something, the message "Read more at [the thread link you copied from]" is appended to the end of your copied selection.

If this is a feature, get rid of this, as removing that everytime I copy something to clipboard would be really annoying. If it's a bug, please fix.

Thanks.

I don't think it can be removed, since I hear CraveOnline can add whatever feature they want.

I don't think so, since it started happening straight when the "Share on Facebook, reddit, twitter, etc" was added.

I'm not seeing it. I tried copying both your post and a link to a post in the thread and neither has that.

Never seen it before either - I'm using firefox though so there's that. Your fault for using an inferior browser and joining the botnet, I suppose.

Yep, I do. And, well, I'm using adblock as well but I don't think those should cound as ads...rather as scripts, but I have MAL whitelisted in noscript so everything scripted should be running for me.

I've been using Adblock Plus this entire time, but just incase, I've just installed AdBlock as well. It still appears whether it's one enabled or both enabled :/

Yeah, it seems to have a threshold minimum of 7 "words." 7 "words" seem to be indicated by 6+ space characters.

var radvars = {
"min": 7,
"url": url,
"msg": model.l10n("readMore") + " ",
"allowLink": false,
"callback": function () {
helper.googleAnalytics.track("event", "Clipboard", locationHref);

helper.trackClickBack(helper.createLogCopyPaste());

If you have AdBlock on Chrome, click on the Options and check Easy Privacy (besides the default checked items) on the Filter List.

I see it as well in Chrome (I never would have noticed if not for this thread though.)

More than likely a feature rather than a bug. Probably to enable quicker searching of related info. If someone posts a copy/pasta from one thread discussing a similar topic to another this way, it allows for a quick jump to the topic being discussed in the other thread.

Of course this is all under the assumption that the information is even related. I imagine that's why there's a word threshold, so that simply copying a word or two doesn't do it.

Ctrl C + That punch scene at the last episode of Soul Eater.

Result = That punch scene at the last episode of Soul Eater. Read more at http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=595413&show=60#6ukuJmSCJqLZpErD.99

I copied that from a thread in Anime Discussions.

Probably not going to go away, so you'll likely just have to put up with it.

They didn't do it on "purpose" at all. It was included in the social network plugin they downloaded an added to the site. The purpose of it, as with the social network buttons, is to spread the website's link more to attract more visitors.

But yes, no very little chance of it going away.

AdBlock doesn't block most if not all "social" trackers among those obviously Google Analytics which is having a part in this. It let's those through without any mentioning of that. The only quite disappointing thing that I personally know of.

But even if I disable AdBlock, NoScript and Ghostery I don't have that neither in Firefox nor in Chrome.
Well, maybe it's my Kaspersky still blocking some vital things..
However, you might try using Ghostery after all (FF, don't know if there's a Chrome equivalent), it transparently blocks all those stupid trackers. There are 9 alone in this thread, 1 disappeared after re-activating my blocking plugins. Maybe it's gone with that?
Worth a shot.

Seriously, this is an irritating 'feature.' Do enough people even quote content from MAL on other websites to justify having this coupled with every bit of copied forum text? It at least shouldn't appear when I'm pasting text from a thread into a reply I'm making.

Anyone else annoyed by this and want it removed in The Great MAL Renewal of 2020?
