I love when they experiments with art styles to fit the storytelling. But this one was just scattered. It was more like the artists wanted to put in all art styles they could think of without really thinking it through.
Still I think the anime have some promise, but I really hope they calm down and make the art more whole. Try fitting the beautiful art styles in to the more powerful scenes than just put them in rapidly.
Does anyone know the title of the opening of Episode 1? It isn't euphoric field...since there is no official opening for ep 1.
The BGM played between 1:27 to 2:57 - which I guess is called the opening of episode 1? Even wikipedia quoted it, but no title of the song was given. I checked out the both soundtracks and could not find it. Anyone know the title of the song?
I am really confused lol. The fact that there are multiple time periods going on at once is screwing me up. On the upside: I really like the artwork to this and hopefully I'll understand it a bit more.
i am okay with how this show started i am not sure if i want to watch the second episode yet but who knows i am watching the dubbed version n not bad but quite a few of Clannad voice actors r also in this one so that is cool
I love what this first episode did. It introduced many of the characters right away and hinted at the fact that even though they are separated right now, they are related in some way (friend, brother, etc.). This also built up some nice mystery especially with those two who were waiting for someone in the church.
The exchange between Renji and Chihiro was soo sweet. I think I'm gonna end up liking them a lot. All of the characters were well introduced. That couple in the beginning (guy and girl filming) is an example. Their little banter about him checking out another girl shows that they're pretty close - also the fact that they sleep together.
All this in beautiful 1080p. I'm so excited for this!
-What do you mean life doesn't work like my Chinese cartoons!?
I don't have a clue of what happened... So I read the synopsis and now it all make sense :P
But now I feel a bit spoiled at the same time xD
I always love Shaft art style, it's always original. Though, I must say that I'm not really fan of this character design, look a bit too much realistic forced.
I thought at the beginning that Hiro was Kei brother, I think I misunderpreted.
«Time is passing so quickly. Right now, I feel like complaining to Einstein. Whether time is slow or fast depends on perception. Relativity theory is so romantic. And so sad.» - Kurisu Makise a.k.a. The Zombie
Well I liked the visuals
, but I'm not particularly interested in any of the characters or their interactions. Pretty much it was a boring episode, but that's to be expected since it's the first one and they just introduced characters.
When I tried begin to watch Bakemonogatari I couldn't go past episode 3 because of Shaft's way of animate things, with their fast screenshots and all, so everytime I start watch a Shaft anime I always carry with me a head painkiller, but more time passes and more I see that Bakemongatari was were they went more at breakneck speed, because every other anime of their were quite easy to follow.
This first episode of Ef-A Tale of Memories was one of them, fortunately.
I have to say that this show really intrigues me, even though I felt that those final sentimental parts were in some ways forced.
By the way one big point imho is the mechanic of it. With me those stories where multiple ones are involved in a bigger plot is always a safe bet. The episode was all backgrounded by a very good soundtrack and the art seems nice.
I am most intrigued by the 2 people of the church, I feel that their will be a good story.
I like the art. Following 2 stories at the same time might be hard but I'll find out.
That Renji looks and sounds like a fag. Annoying. That girl is stereotypical too. Seems like a boring pairing.
Anyways it might be an interesting series. Meh OP and ED , good OST.
"Well, it was good while it lasted… We killed some boredom, didn't we?"
